Husband wants a new Jeep "pickup", is this ugly or is it just me?

Most of those vehicles are for show and never even get off of a paved road. I still like them though, for their rugged look - but would definitely skip the dorky "MOJAVE" decals

“MOJAVE” is an option package with particular gear axle ratios, differential locks, sway bar disconnects and remote reservoir shocks. It’s not just a decal on the hood

I agree with you that most won’t ever see anything but pavement, but it’s far more likely that the buyers springing for the enhanced capability of the Mojave and Rubicon models will be far more likely to take those off-road.

The options are great but I would still skip the dorky decals. Might as well say "Tonka"

a heat gun fixes the decal situation. The whole truck really makes no sense unless you off road, and even then, unless you're really a jeep guy, just buy a Taco.

Fugly. With the exception of Rubicons, I also just find Wranglers in general to be unpleasant to drive and be driven in; pick up version may differ, but probably similar.

My buddy bought the new plug-in hybrid Wrangler Sahara. We took it off-road in California.

So. Much. Fun.

The longer wheelbase probably smooths out the choppiness typically felt in traditional Jeeps. It’s 3” shorter than the wheelbase on most half-ton quad cab pick ups, and those tend to ride pretty smooth, so I’d expect it to be similar to them rather than a Wrangler.

Actually “Tonka” would be a great hood-decal itself, lol!

Tacoma’s feel way too small and cramped inside. I used to have a 2011 Taco and was constantly bumping my head on the roof part of the A-pillar while getting in and out. I’m only like 6’ tall, not some giant, either. Rear seats were cramped, too.

We have one and use it pretty extensively for hauling. We don’t do too much off roading other than going to a cabin we own.

Truck + manual transmission + convertible is a great combination. It’s fun.

Have you towed anything with it? Do you have the tow package (4.10 axle gearing and brake-controller) or is it the regular set-up with 3.73 gears?

Actually it’s exactly the opposite of a mullet.

The party is up front, where it’s a Jeep. Business is out back, where it’s a pick up truck!

I hope things get better for you, PP.

Pp here. I don’t know actually. We do have some tow package. We only have a trailer that we tow, not a boat or something large

Clearly I’m not involved in the towing part, I leave that to Dh. But I drive it often and it’s fun! It’s a different ride than a wrangler. I believe different chassis
