Ok, if you have the factory tow package you have 4.10 gears. Question- how heavy is your trailer? Are you happy with the tow capability? |
I'm gonna coin it, JEEP MULLET!!
|
LOVE THIS!!!! I want one. |
| Looked at one Sunday. Will probably buy one later in the year when they’re trying to clear out the 21’s. |
Those decals let other Jeep/car people know you have more expensive trims. Mojave, Rubicon, and High Altitude are the priciest Jeep trims. |
|
It’s not really just a “trim” level as most people think of that term, ie leather seats, nav system, entertainment, ect.
There are some major differences in the suspension components, axles, transfer cases, skid plating, armor belt and other little doodads on the Rubicon and Mojave versions that are definitely unique to them. And I think the High Altitude model is the only one with an option for a V8 engine - a 510 hp Hellcat motor - as an absurdly high $29,000 add-on option. |
| OMG, these things are all over SoCal now all the sudden. It seems like I’m seeing one literally every few minutes. |
It took a while to catch on, but they are quickly becoming popular. I know a couple that swore up and down that these were the fugliest things to ever be created. Wife thought it looked like a weird mullet of a car. Just a few weeks ago the husband asked my DH a good price to negotiate at at the dealership and wanted to know how much we paid. We bought it at the earlier stages of the pandemic when car dealerships were actually negotiating. Now, not so much so they ended up paying slightly above MSRP 😬😬 |
What I can’t understand is $15k difference in sticker prices for the same models. I looked a two different Gladiator Rubicons. One was $43k. The other was $59k. What?!? How’s that happen? How is it possible to option-up the SAME model $15,000+? The $43K Rubicon had 6 speed manual. The $59k Rubicon had an automatic. That was the only discernible difference to me. Both were hard tops, both were Rubicon versions with the same running-gear. How do you add fifteen grand worth of stuff to it beyond what it’s already got? |
Are you sure there weren’t extras added? Also, maybe it was a specific paint color that cost more? Sorry I’m not much help. I bought April 2020 and dealers were much more interested in negotiating. Car prices, especially truck prices, have exploded over the past few months. |
All the paint options other than white all cost the same - $245(?) so it’s definitely not paint. I can’t figure it out. |
| I want one of those so bad. Don’t care what the haters say. I think they’re cool AF |
You got ripped off. Multiple dealers in the area regularly offer 8% off invoice. You have to shop around. I got 8% off invoice on my Wrangler. |
Dh wanted a specific color and paid a lot for it. I’m sure there’s other are other options too. |
They have multiple different packages now and it really depends on the add in. You have to pay extra for each safety feature, better radio, steel bumpers, LED lights, and it easily adds up to the 50's. Mine was in the mid 50's, maybe higher with the MSRP mostly loaded 2020. They extra safety features, steel bumpers and led lights are worth it if you can afford it. |
