Uh, why wouldn't you just get a pickup with a second row? Those have been around for a long time. If you don't like pickups, then you won't like them, but if you don't mind a pickup, then they are exponentially less awful than this mutation.

Well, I guess one thing is that that fugly Jeep is cheaper than the "luxury" second row pickups.

just like home decor that looks nice, or at least not terrible, is more expensive than ugly crap.

It reminds me, in principle, of an el camino.

El Camino, el el camino. The front is like a car, the back is like a truck. The front is where you ride, the back is where you...el camino, el el camino.

Yeah, this jeep is awful

Yikes. Tell him to get a real pickup, or a real Jeep. That's just... bad

Not only is it ugly but it seems like it wouldn't do either function well (wheelbase too long to be fun and maneuverable like a Jeep, bed too short to be a decent pickup)

We have a Gladiator and we love it. Of course the basic level ones don’t look as good as the upper models. It is so fun to drive and we always receive compliments on our build. I was hesitant at first too, but when we saw it in person, it changed our mind! I don’t think it’s for everyone. Google jeep gladiator builds and see if anything catches your eye.

It's one of those things you have to love to appreciate it. Like most real jeeps they are noisy and stiff...that's the point. It isn't creature comfort. But, with the top and sides off and the boards in the back it is the BEST beach vehicle.

I really like it, but my kids unanimously consider me to have awful taste.

I agree. There is such a strong jeep culture that is hard to understand until you get one. I know many people who traded their Wrangler for a Gladiator and many more who want to trade their Wrangler for a Gladiator. Sure, there will be Wrangler fans who hate the Gladiator, but they are definitely not the majority. The gladiator is like a Jeep experience, but even more. Last minute tailgates, drive in movie theaters, loading up the back filled with beach toys, etc.

I love the versatility of this vehicle. A truck when we need/want it, and a fun car %100 of the time. Love waking up to 80 degree weather and deciding last minute to just take the top down and drive.

Oh, it's ugly alright.

Maybe you're not understanding that pp. It's a convertible like all Jeeps. The roof comes off or folds down. No other truck does that.

No way. Jeeps are more expensive than most trucks. We're getting a Gladiator Rubicon and it's 50k. You don't want the base model because they come with absolutely nothing. The Gladiator sports look cheaper.

+1. Plus a fun stick shift. Ford F150s do not have fun stick shifts if you buy a manual.

Most of the second-row trucks that are being marketed as family haulers are way more than 50k.

A non-base model loaded truck with a second row is more than 50k.

Which mid-size truck is way more than $50k? Decked out Rubicon gladiators run $64k. They are really expensive, but pretty cool considering you get all the fun of a Jeep plus more.
