When you are driving a car, you should be focused on driving. If you need to make a call, pull over.

Your argument against using hands-free devices is wholly contradicted by the fact that cars pass US and European safety standards with voice command systems built into them.

They will eventually revisit that and change it. People who are having a phone conversation are not as aware of their driving as they think they are. It is only a matter of time before the accident statistics make that an unavoidable conclusion. People managed for ever to drive without phones. If it is na emergency pull over. If you HAVE to do business, get a driver.

Dude, it's not me, personally. Distracted driving is a known phenomenon that there is plenty of research about. And people said the exact same thing about drinking and driving. You would have said, "Because you're such an expert on how much I can drink before it impairs my driving. " You might even have gone on to say, "I'm a better driver after 4 beers than you are when you're sober," or some such.

This is so outdated, would be fine up through 2005, The technology exists that I can text and not pay attention, this ban should only be in place for legacy not crash avoidance vehicles
