DP Rolling Thunder does not ride around recklessly the same way. There is definitely a huge potential for people to get hurt the way there bikers ride around. It is not true that they are only endangering themselves. |
Same story in MoCo. We have neighbors that have been trying to get some action on this issue for a while. FTR, they are neighbors of all races. Police seem to say that their hands are tied and there is not much they can do. |
You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you? They aren't supposed to ride ATVs and dirt bikes through the city to begin with. Let's start there. |
As much as I do not like the sound or Rolling Thunder (I hate loud bikes) they do get permits and work with the police. They are also on vehicles that are legal on the streets. It doesn't compare to what those little sh*its are doing. |
No argument there. And they put cameras on pretty much every corner on of the city to deal with exactly this problem. |
| I've been caught in the middle of one of these with my kid in the backseat. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them when they crossed the intersection in front of me. They had a red light. I had green on Rhode Island Ave but had to come to a full stop in the intersection. My preschooler was terrified when they rode a loop and then proceeded to ride down the road on either side of our car (half the group riding against traffic). They were taunting drivers and weaving back and forth across the multilane road on both sides. It's very scary and quite dangerous for themselves and anyone who happens to be around. |
Based on what? |
Traffic laws!!!! |
DP . Are you an idiot? They're not street legal. |
https://wjla.com/news/local/dc-police-to-stop-atv-and-dirt-bike-riding-in-the-district Illegal. |
Why aren't they? Don't cite the specific law - tell me why dirt bikes, specifically, shouldn't be legal to ride on the street in DC. |
Oh, give it up. If you want to make them legal, take it up with the city council. Until then, stay off the streets of DC. |
Irrelevant. |
Agreed. They actually give our citations for those traffic violations. Speed cameras. Red light caneras. There are some negative consequences for breaking those laws. Let’s see the same for these illegal ATV and dirt bike riders. |
| Dc will decriminalize it |
