bean bag guns to the groin |
BAHAHAHAHAHAA Poor black kids on $5000 4 wheelers and dirt bikes. Get out of here. |
You forgot the rest...retreat to privileged bubble, secure fence, scold others. |
|
If you want to see the first person view of their entire ride through the city, check out Poloking_Shawty’s IG Live:
https://instagram.com/poloking_shawty?igshid=1kmzdxaectmiv Should be up for another hour or so. It’s completely crazy. You’ll see that MPD does try to intercept and disrupt the group, but they stop short of physical altercations (ie, using MPD vehicles to nudge riders off their bikes). |

DC police have an official no chase policy for this. It's because once when they did someone got hurt.
They most definitely do wreck havoc and have hurt people. They killed a dog once. Last summer one of them popped a wheelie and came down on my husband's car hood, while he sat in it waiting for them to pass. But good advice, PP! They are a f(*$#ing menace. |
| I don't know why they don't throw down those strips that pop tires like they do in europe. Our police force is so archaic. |
| Ugh why can't they act non crime |
| They went barreling down H St NE yesterday running red light after red light and almost hit my car. I'm amazed they didn't hit any pedestrians crossing the street. It's super-dangerous and I'm pissed the city does absolutely nothing about it. I called 911 and go the verbal equivalent of a shoulder shrug. |
Because other vehicles are in the road? If the bikes crash, it endangers other drivers, and if there’s property damage to street-legal vehicles, the city would be liable. |
| A bracing reminder that there are alternative ways of enjoying recreational activities. And a thought provoking challenge, it appears, to social norms and traffic rules and public spaces. Is this the type of activity pearl clutching suburban moms would want to see in their ”lovely” neighborhoods? Guessing not, but it’s good to know that there are alternative realities. |
| We should also round up the 1000’s of people driving into DC everyday, causing chaos and fear by breaking traffic laws when they go over the speed limit, texting, turning right on red without coming to a full stop, not coming to a full stop at stop signs, the list could go on and on! |
Turns out that actually the pedestrian pushed the rider off the bike, and then the rider punched the pedestrian. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/pedestrian-injured-in-altercation-with-dirt-bike-riders-on-14th-street/2019/08/26/40d4e9a4-c826-11e9-a4f3-c081a126de70_story.html?noredirect=on |
And if the bikes/ATVs weren't there antagonizing everyone none of it would have happened. Furthermore, if the police was doing their job and dispersed them, none of it would have happened. |
So the people on dirt bikes are dangerous because other people might get angry at them and punch them? No, that's not how it works. |
They do it in my MoCo neighborhood also and we can’t get police to do anything. It’s been incredibly frustrating. And very unsafe. |
