Virginia election 2019

I have to say the democratic side's get out of the vote effort was amazing. We had people come to our house at least 10 times (even though we kept saying we would vote and they didn't have to come back) and I received 5 mailings from random people encouraging me to vote. It was pretty crazy.

I'm in PWC and we got stacks of mailers daily. Plus grassroots coming to the door. I am looking forward to the end of ads and paper.

We got a ton of D door knockers, nothing from the R side.

I'm a Dranesville voter. Almost everyone was clutching a Republican sample ballot and the Dem sample ballot people looked glum. People were saying they were voting R so they didn't lose their property value and felt the school board needed to be reigned in. We'll see.

And yet? My very liberal husband is voting R this time around for school board and some other positions because he's really angry about One Fairfax and the hubris surrounding the policy. He told my son that he should do the same.

Yup, even my mom, who was a hippie in the 1960s and is a lifelong activist and donor to so many organizations beloved by Democrats, voted Republican for the school board this time.

From WAVY: New numbers in from the voter registrar in Virginia Beach. As of 5 pm, 96,000 people have voted compared to 63,000 in 2015 when the entire General Assembly was last up for election. That is 32% and climbing.

You’ve made that DCUM anti-FCPS poster so happy! Your husband should be embarrassed that he fell for the tactics that were used.

I don’t give two craps who you voted for school board. Please tell me you voted Dem for your star senator and delegate!

There were no 'tactics'. I was at the board meeting and watched them all.
