Virginia is becoming like Maryland and I think that's awesome.
Now if only both states can elect governors who are not a) race-bating Republicans or b) KKK/Blackface wearing Democrats. |
Northam term limited and he’s toast in VA. He’ll never win another election. Hard to see Herring or especially Fairfax winning in VA again either. |
| I was born in MD (Northeastern) and currently live in VA. When we were very first house hunting in the burbs, my husband was working in Rockville and we thought we might buy in G-burg. Then I got a job in Arlington (vs downtown DC) and we decided to go to Reston (we are now in Chantilly area). Now he works in Stafford County and I work in Reston and we are good staying in Fairfax County. If things had gone a different way, I would happily move to the MD burbs. Glad to have been able to make an impact on local politics, though. Lovely to see all those seats turn red to blue. |
Willing to work down in the deep-red south? No thanks! There’s a reason the DMV attracts newcomers. These reasons include good jobs, diversity, great schools, etc. If the Deep South is so great, why don’t YOU move there?? |
DMV is propped up by the federal government period. Without the federal government DC would be like Baltimore. That's a fact. Have you ever been to a major city in the deep-red south like Atlanta, Tampa, Dallas, Jackson, Montgomery.... shut your pie hole you liberal idiot. |
Lol. Let’s talk further once you sober up! |
And until you do, please stay off Virginia roads! |
You mean with no fed govt DC would have gotten major industry in the first half of the 20th century? You do know Baltimore is so hard hit, because (like some midwest cities) it was a huge industrial city. Anyway, not sure what your point is. Va has done well even as it has become more blue. The most prosperous areas (increasingly reliant on the private sector) are the bluest. Va will not turn into Calif or NY. Calif and NY are economically succesful. |
| School boundaries can be changed in 14% increments without having to even acknowledge parents. |
They will win again. |
Why do you think your jobs moved from MD to Virginia? |
| I never worked in MD. My husband did, as a contractor for the govt agency where he is now in office in VA. He left the company in MD. His company didn’t move. |
Yeah and the cities you listed are full of the “poor minorities” you’re so afraid of! |
New York lost more residents in 2018 than any other state. |
| I think it is a transient state though. Was the overall number and percentage of growth the worst in the state too? |
