No. It would not have prevented it. That kid was going to do what he was going to do. There is no stopping mass shootings. It is a reality of life, like drugs, cancer, rape, and heart attacks. The world is not risk free and never will be.

Don't forget about Virginia Beach, which is still raw from May, and angry. And there is only one way to find out if gun control can help stop mass shootings, but we haven't tried it yet to know. Not sure how you can make such a simplistic general statement about something so serious.

“Let's talk about next week's elections, shall we? Today's Crystal Ball provides a thorough overview and assessment. The three prizes up for grabs are all currently held by the Republicans -- the Kentucky and Mississippi governorships, and majority control of the Virginia General Assembly (other legislative majorities up for election this year are not two-party competitive). We think the Republicans are favored in Kentucky and Mississippi (with Kentucky being more tenuous), and the Democrats are favored in the fight for the Virginia General Assembly (better odds in the Senate than the House). In an era of nationalized elections, we think the safer bet in most races is on whichever side nationalization favors. Obviously, Kentucky and Mississippi are GOP states; Virginia is a Dem-trending swing state, and many of the key districts are favorable to Democrats *at least on paper*.

Bring immigrants into northern virginia. Win dem elections.

So immigrants are the ones donating to the state Democratic party? And northern Virginia is the only place with elections this year? Not following.

Prediction: Loudoun will go nearly as blue as Fairfax. Even Western Loudoun.

There should be a law that leftist who vote for policies that affect a state negatively must live in it, rather than allow them to flee

Virginia is going to be totally blue. And not just this light blue pro business, sprawl living, corporate giveaway nonsense—real progressive blue. New pro union legislation, new pro-tenant legislation, criminal justice reform, voters rights, meaningful environmental regulations ... I am very excited. The old VA is going away and can take its ugly past with it.

You need to get the leaders out first - Governor, Lt. Governor, and AG.

Voted! In and out at 8!

All my reps are already blue and I expect them to remain so but I made sure to vote. Would love if we could take the general assembly.

You mean the kind of blue that in debates puts my Obama up there with Pol Pot? No thank you. Kathy Tan abortion - 1 doctor sign off gets a healthy mother
in week 39 the ability to declare what is a healthy baby a product to be aborted? VA has late term abortion with 3 doctor sign off already.

Stuff in Fairfax County will make it higher tax than DC or MOCO. 1/8 of current budget for free daycare/pre k from birth and affordable housing free make what 1/8? So 25% of the budget gets re allocated? No. higher taxes . I'd pay higher in DC or Baltimore but not here for the demographics of the beneficiaries.
