No, its 100% mine.

Where do you live? Because that is pretty much unheard of.

NP I own to the road too. If you don't have a sidewalk on your side of the street, you probably own it.

Either way, these people are animals for parking in the grass.

Please get a survey...assuming if you have not done that. In Va for example, VDOT owns the right of way from edge of the road to your property line. There are also utility easements and depending on
when your plat was sub divided and/or recorded, it is hard to tell. I know...I know....but best to get a survey.

Even if the county owns that strip of land and it is an easement we as homeowners are expected to maintain it. mow it , maintain it, and we pay taxes on it. There is an expectation that even though it may be a right of way we would like it to look nice. Therefore, asking people not to park on it is not unreasonable. I really don’t think you would like huge Puddles of mud and tire tracks in that little strip of your yard while everything else looks nice.

I have a survey. I own the land. All of it. Why are you so hung up on this?

What kind of person. Parks on someone's grass? I simply cannot even imagine.

Thanks, I was trying to find the triangle concrete blocks PP described.

I'm not sure if this is what the PP meant. These are actually designed to be footers for deck posts and railings. They are just a touch under 1 ft square (1 ft on a side) in footprint and about 8 inches high. They are cheap and you can put a row of these about 2-3 ft apart.

The issue here is that they are relatively easy to move. But that would require a driver to get out of the car, come around and move them just to get back in and park on the grass. I think if you put them about 2 ft apart, someone would have to move 3-4 of them to get a larger car (and aren't most of these obnoxious big SUVs?) in there.

It's a problem with Virginians. They can't seem to understand that Virginia laws don't apply everywhere even outside of Virginia. They don't understand that other jurisdictions have different laws.

maybe a sign saying private property - please keep off ?

And then tire spikes I guess, if the sign doesn’t work

We need to hear more about this. You know, for research to help OP.

OP here, I have an update.

Neighbors had a party last night and at one point there were six vehicles parked on my lawn like it were special events parking. As of right now, there are two vehicles still there that must have spent the night or ubered home.

Dang! I'd be pretty pissed. I hope your lawn isn't too torn up. Get some stakes.

Call the police and have them ticketed and towed.

We have a neighbor that backs up out of his place well into our front lawn to turn around and leave our dead end street. We have fixed the ruts and seeded many times. I envision all sorts of terrible things I could put there, but have decided on a garden next spring.

But what if he backs over your garden?

Or full on turning the car and lining up on your lawn like it’s special event parking? The latter, yeah, go tell them to quit it. The former, you just need to let go, since that strip probably belongs to the county.

It’s not that implausible. Imagine a neighborhood without curbs/sidewalks. They’re probably pulling over and going too far on the grass. This happens a lot around school bus stop where lots of people need to get there at the same time and they don’t want to block the street.

This is exactly it. But if they just stayed on the street, they wouldn't block anything. There's plenty of room for cars to get by and visibility is great. We only have a dozen houses on our court and at most there only needs to be two cars waiting for the bus because we just dont have many families with school aged children that live here.
