Unless you are on either team why do you care? And if you are on either team then just ask your TD directly.

Wouldn't families on the team need to know this information before they commit to the team?

And your best idea is to get that info from a forum and not the TD of the club?

whats the big deal with asking on this board? probably a quicker answer from parents directly involved and killing time on this board than the TD

I think you are misunderstanding. Is it typical that a family would commit without having those details available? My player is still too young for this yet.

I think it's typical to commit without every detail, things change as the showcases and tournaments get closer. The info above re: WS was in the offer letter, and is pretty typical of what kind of schedule information I've been given for all travel teams up front in the past. Since this forum is supposed to be about GDA vs. ECNL, I will say that the U13 ECNL teams I have had exposure to also travel about the same amount for tournaments and showcases.

shouldnt be committing to the DA or ECNL if you dont have the $$$$ to fully be in it.

The short answer is, yes, all players are expected to commit to the travel.

I think it's expected that far away events are attended by anyone who is available. The costs are given up front as much as possible, but these teams are only rostering 18-20 kids, so they expect the kids to be there unless there are circumstances (like family funerals) that come up. That said, as they get older, these teams are offering bus trips and chaperones (usually parents), so it does cut your travel cost as a family slightly.

Depends on how important tournaments and showcases are to you. If they are, then yes. If you are looking more at training and development, then definitely no.

Was the fourth day ever used for video review? How does WS handle the video review aspect?

Not really, the Sunday / 4th day was pretty consistent throughout the year. With that being said, the 04 coach would give the girls various video assignments on occasion and have them review and provide feedback not only on themselves, but team mates as well. It was very structured and was meant to provide them another perspective on the game.

Thanks Jeff! Can we do that more often?

Moving on

What is the projected 13U travel for this Fall's 2006 FCV DA Team? A couple airplane rides similar to Arlington and WS?

I honestly have learned here more than talking to coaches at the clubs who only have generalities. TIA.

The U13 is a Pilot so nobody knows based on history. Seriously, talk to your TD as any answer given here is pure speculation or is old info.

You should expect the league schedule to be the same as the other age groups.

The showcase element has been covered already and there is no reason to believe that FCV will veer to far off from Spirit's previously mentioned tentative schedule.

If US Soccer will have a U13 bracket in FL and NC then expect to go, otherwise expect the DA's to agree on attending established non-DA tournaments. Those can be in FL and Dallas. Mainly so that the Pilot group in our division can play against the Pilot age group in the Frontier division.

Anyone know what the team manager position entails for a new DA team? No one’s stepped up so far, and I want some insight before I volunteer.

Not sure which club you’re talking about but WS doesn’t use team managers. All communications and admin work is handled by club staff.
