We were told U13 is going to events in Dallas and NJ.

I wish they would but I have no inside info. Seems like with the additions of loudoun, vda, and wilmington, you could form a fairly tight conference by moving the SC teams to the SE conf and perhaps adding in bethesda and MUFC.

That would be awesome and it’s what I’m hopeful for.

Mid Atlantic conference will keep the existing teams and add in Loudoun, VDA, Wilmington. The issue with trying to pull MD teams into the Mid Atlantic conference is the HS season in the fall, which causes scheduling issues. All the rest of the teams in the Mid Atlantic conference play HS in the spring.

Wilmington is in North Carolina not Delaware.

Right, so now there are 5 VA teams, 4 NC teams, 2 SC teams in the Mid Atlantic conference

Parents will be surprised to learn this at our big club!

My understanding is they will play showcases that conform to DA standards without one run by USSF itself as currently only 2 conferences have U13s (though I suspect that will expand next year).

Recovery day is actually for those who played 60+ minutes.

I hate these practices scheduled for recovery days. Club does it to make their schedule work, not because it is i ideal for the kids. WE give up a regular practice which could have been intense and useful but the club gets to still cont it as a practice. I dont need to pay for recovery day - i think we are capable of handling that on our own.

So, if your kid played 80 or 90 minutes the day before the best thing in your opinion is a full intense practice?

^ a rest day would be the best.

I hear what you are saying, but stretching and light ball work are important too.

If your kid played 60+ minutes each week and had every Sunday off, you’d be complaining about the three days of training vs. four for others. That makes no sense. Isn’t this periodization training?

I was told at Arlington DA that u13 will go to Florida/NC/CA showcases.

Arlington is confused. Even the U14s didn't have a bracket in FL.

Does DA offer a Discover Player-like option for jids who can't do DA full-time?

A little crazy for 12-year olds to be going to showcases. Jumping the gun a bit.

Well that is because there are no showcases for U13. The U13 DA's will simply play in regular soccer tournaments, likely in brackets against the Frontier Division Pilot U13 brackets. So these will likely require travel to Dallas and Florida they are not actually billed as college showcase. But there are no US Soccer DA showcase events for this age group. While US Soccer scouts will be at these events it is highly unlikely any college coaches will attend.
