It’s not a sanctuary district.

NP - You must be kidding...

I don't think we need any more "ideas" on making MoCo diverse. Rockville and Gaithersburg are among the most diverse cities in the country. Rockville is over 30% foreign born; add in their kids and it is probably 50% "new residents".

It's not a sanctuary district. The police don't withhold info from the feds. There was a proposal to do this in Rockville City itself a year or two ago. I believe it did not pass, but I could be wrong on that. There was a lot of opposition, particularly from the Asian community.

It passed...

It’s not. Educate yourself, please. We give all arrest information to the FBI, which in turn gives it to ICE. ICE knows who’s in our jails. And if they get here in time, they can take them into custody. Nobody is stopping them.

I'll vote for whichever candidate will allow me to buy beer and wine from the damn Safeway down the block from my house. Which candidate is that?

The liquor laws are state laws. No County politician can change them. It has to be our State delegates and senators who do.

Blair has no experience.
Frick is a nonentity.
Leventhal has a nasty side and no leadership skills.
Krasnow has been involved in a lot of the planning choices I don’t care for and her mayoral experience is from a different political era.
Elrich is too far left and doesn’t think about consequences of his liberal actions.
Berliner is the best of the bunch but something about him rubs me the wrong way.

So I may skip that race and focus my energy instead on who to vote for in the CD6 race.

The problem with Berliner is that he's clueless. He rarely asks questions or comments during hearings or meetings...because he doesn't know enough to add to or inform the conversation. He will be a train wreck.

Leventhal comes off as abrupt, but I think he actually does his homework and knows what he's talking about. My beef with him is that he talks out of both sides of his mouth and seemingly is afraid to take a stand.

Elrich isn't just plain awful.

Rose isn't impressive, but she might be our best bet.

Agree on Berliner. He is the worst of the bunch in my opinion, in bed with all the developers. He did nothing to represent his district and acted like he was the County Executive. It was clear he had that ambition. Leventhal is so arrogant I just can't deal with him. The thing I like about Elrich is he isn't accepting development money. Berliner is already working hard to turn the county into a concrete jungle. I'll look more at Krasnow. I don't understand why this county can't get any decent candidates.

We all need to work with our state representatives to get that law overturned. It is disgusting how the state of Maryland rides Montgomery while redistributing all our revenue throughout the state-to all the red areas while MoCo produces more revenue than the other counties. We need to start taking Montgomery County back. The state is turning it into a dump.

Just saw a poll of likely primary voters, and it has Elrich and Leventhal neck and neck.

Is that the internal poll from Leventhal’s campaign?

You have to be talking about Leventhal's page, I couldn't find any other poll results.

I would love to see this, too. I’m very liberal but Elrich is around the frigging bend in my opinion. I’m genuinely concerned if he has a shot,

OP here. Googled it. Fascinating. Confirms what I suspected....the initial poll that is. The rest seems like fluff.
