For ONE room?!?

Supply and demand. We probably paid under $4, I think $3500 or less for our balcony room. No way I'd pay that much. Pull them out of school and go on an off week.

On a 7 night with 3 kids in a family verandah? Impossible.

7 Nights/Disney Fantasy, not sure the room name but it was a nice balcony room/2 bathrooms. 1 kid/two adults. Not impossible as it was a military price and we did it within a month planning. The balcony room was only a few hundred more. We usually got when there is a 1-2 days of teacher days or holidays and so less school missed but we also combined it with a few days at Disney too (again military rates). I would never pay $10K. Even what we paid was high for what it was. We went October/November a year ago. The downside is there were mainly younger kids.

Looking at the website it was a Veranda.

Your talking about a price of $4K for a family of 3 and the pp is talking about 9k for a family of 5. You’re also talking about off season vs prime season. My kids and I are booked on the Fantasy next Oct in a Verandah and I paid $3800 for the 3 of us.

Of course you don't go prime and then complain about the price. It isn't $5-6K more for 2 extra kids in the room.

There's also a difference between verandahs. You could have the cheapest verandah room.

We’re going on feb. 3 nights, 3 people, whatever the largest veranda suite is - $2500

It will be cold then. That's why it's cheap.

+1
We went in January but you have to do the seven night to get far enough south. Bahamas and castaway cay were freezing.

Even in April the first night is damn chilly on a 7 night. They really haul ass and the wind whips around. I have a picture of me trying to keep my hair from flying ogrr my head LOL

Disliked that I wasn’t aware of advanced reservations needed to see princess court. Stood in line two hours on ship to make reservation once I was told at check in that one was needed, and only available time conflicted with a port adventure. So we missed princesses completely.

I don't get how the restaurant waiters were feeding the kids at the next table? how does that even happen

Lots of servers step it up for tips. Disney is known for this.

I was surprised as heck when our server did that. They didn't feed my child but they sure cut the food up into bite size pieces.

They were cutting the food and putting it in the kids mouth - it looked like a 2, 4, and maybe 5/6 year old. Parents were completely checked out, youngest tantrum every night and kids were just sitting there looking confused as they needed help cutting (normal at that age) so when the parents didn't, the waiters (2) jumped in and helped the kids. The kids were struggling with the forks so the waiters just helped. (I think the logic was better to feed than have hungry screaming kids). Mom one night just asked for ice cream for the 2 year old instead of feeding him as she said it was easier to give him ice cream than get him to eat food (which the waiters had no problem getting the kids to eat). The waiters have my full respect for feeding the kids but it was a bit absurd how checked out the parents were. I got the impression Dad was not around much as they were loud and you could hear the conversations and Mom had a full-time nanny. Our waiters were great.

But, as a parent, why wouldn't you cut up your kids food? I don't think they are looking for tips but Disney prides themselves on good customer service. Our waiter said they get fired or reassigned to lesser posts if they get complaints as they were sure at the end to ask for a review. They did go out of their way a few nights and get us mac and cheese or plain pasta for our child but I cannot imagine sitting there while they cut my child'd food. They also got him a special plate of his favorite things instead of a salad which was cool. I felt bad as often he would not eat as we fed him room service earlier so he would be ok through the meal.

A lot of the staff are very kid friendly and for us the wait staff was older and many had kids so for some its just natural and they didn't want the screaming kids in their section. They also did some magic tricks for the kids.

You couldn't get reservations to several of the events. I think they should limit the number of reservations so everyone gets a chance. My child had no interest so it wasn't a big deal for us.

No, we had a really good view and it was a better room. The first room they assigned us to got terrible reviews and was right above the theatre so I complained as I wanted quiet to get our child to bed at a reasonable hour so they moved us and gave us a better room. The cheapest verandah room would have been fine as long as it was quiet and ok view. October/November it was still a bit hot but great time to go. If we have a choice, we always go then. We went once to Disney in September and it was still too hot.

Because they set the plates down and did it. I didn't have an opportunity to cut it up.

Was it just chilly as you were not in the Bahamas or the entire time? I have done the Baltimore to Bermuda and it was freezing till you got closer to Bermuda and then fine.
