No, they didn't. PP, you are spreading disinformation. Shame on you. |
Seriously curious what PP's agenda is. To get everyone worked up? To what end? |
Did you watch the video of 9/24/2018 BOE Meeting ? |
| Sure, but there will be a new Board (actually several new Boards) long before we get to a Crown Boundary Study, so who knows what the policy will be at that time. |
| I personally think the Crown HS will be worse reputation-wise that Wootton and QO, and better than Northwest and Gaithersburg. Maybe similar to RM or slightly lower since the IB. |
I personally think that anybody who thinks they know what the Crown HS will be like actually has no idea what the Crown HS will be like. |
The idea that you group Wootton and QO together us interesting from the start...I think they will pick off some wealthy areas from both Wootton and QO and someclower income areas from Gaithersburg to try to even things out. Also think College Gardens or just King Farm could move to Gaithersburg to boost it up. |
|
I’m not sure why Wooton people think they won’t be effected. Wooton only 2 miles from RM.
Crown farm to Wooton is 3.8 miles and it’s 6 miles to RM. The Wooton pumpers are saying everyone is trying to scare them? They are in denial or just plain naive. |
indeed... mcps has already stated that Wootton will be impacted by Crown: http://gis.mcpsmd.org/cipmasterpdfs/MP19_Chap4_Wootton.pdf Capital Project: Projections indicate that enrollment will exceed capacity by the end of the six-year planning period. Expenditures are programmed in the six-year period to open a new high school on the Crown Farm site to address overutilization in the mid-county region. Although an FY 2019 appropriation for planning was recommended by the Board of Education to begin the architectural design for this new school, the County Council delayed the funds by one year to begin in FY 2020. Once the planning is complete, a recommendation will be included in the next full CIP regarding the phasing and completion date for the opening of this new high school. |
| Wootton will be the big loser. |
I agree. The whole dufief area and the new huge neighborhood off dufuef mill will go to crown mixed with areas now at gburg. Wootton will get some of the lesser Rockville areas now at RM. |
None of the lesser areas of RM are near Wootton. |
| I'm honestly curious why you are so intent on Wootton being a big loser? Which cluster do you live in? |
If you are not in Wootton, then you're a loser, so doesn't matter where in RM you are talking about. /s I live literally across the street from Wootton cluster, but we are in RM cluster. |
The areas that feed into RM that are next to the Wootton cluster are really nice. I thought RM was very attractive to people because as long as your child has the grades and scores then they can go into the IB program which is just as good if not better than taking the top classes at Wootton. (Its harsh but if your kid can't get into the IB program from being in boundary in RM then they wouldn't do very well at Wootton either.) |
