^i was pp.
but..I have to say watching it again was like seeing an old friend. Somehow I still love the show. |
Lol. I did not mind the dragged out secret until this moment. I do not want to be Toby! |
Someone explain to me how Jack dies in a house fire and yet no one else looks like they were in the fire? I mean look at Rebecca - nothing wrong with her clothes or even her makeup but she supposedly just got back from the hospital after a house fire? I'm wondering if Jack was home alone. |
He passed out drunk with a cigarette in his mouth? Or a burner on? Our forgot to put the fire screen up? |
I got the impression that Rebecca was at the hospital identifying his body. |
We are not Toby. Noooooooo... |
Can't be that last one. We've already been through that. Brutal. |
Uh, when? I don't remember that. |
Also William didn't know. Maybe we are William. But also W is in heaven, narrating the show now..so we can't be him. Id guess that even Kevin's gf knows. Me to Toby: "go ask Kevin's girlfriend." |
Do you all think Jack was a good husband and great father? |
I think he's the guy you see and think 'he's a great dad!' But you don't know how it is at home. Randall is like that too. Kevin is almost opposite. Seems like a shallow ego/failure but does have a heart deep down. |
Assume it's a Manchester by the Sea reference.... |
When Rebecca said that no one was perfect but Jack was "as close as you can get" I was like, "What now?" I think he was a good guy but no where near perfect. I think he was a highly flawed person in fact. That doesn't mean he couldn't be a good husband and father, but I think it's weird how they mythologize him on this show. |
Because everyone knows that babies don't do anything for TV ratings. Bringing on an older child with issues gives the writers much more to work with. Babies are cute for the first season and then they have to age them 4 years in order to get a storyline. The series will get boring now that William is gone...they need another struggling adult (or teen) in the mix. |
I thought Kate told Toby the story about her dad's death at some point in the first season... |
