Admit it, how many of you purposely got knocked up so your man would marry you?

Why don't you get a vasectomy? It's the only way to be sure.

Nope, I don't know anyone either. Maybe different demographics...

I'm sad to say I know of two couples where the men were apparently "trapped", but I agree if you're not putting a ring on her and she knows it, you shouldn't be so stupid not to put a condom on you. This happened when I was in my mid and late 20s - I'm 40 now and shocker of the year is neither couple is still together.

Dont know a single person nor heard of any in my extended social circle who has ever done this. Maybe it's a trailer park thing

Holy shit, this is the oldest trick in the book for women. I'd say about 25% of the hags on here are guilty. Don't worry honey, you don't have to use a condom because I'm on the pill...NOT!

75% of statistics are made up

Most of them aren't getting laid anyway so the whole "I have to watch out for pregnancy" thing is just some faraway scenario/dream
Anonymous
I think this was much more common a generation ago. I know a couple of my mom's friends (who are now in their late 60s, early 70s) who had shotgun marriages. However, I don't know of my peers who were pregnant when they were married and think this is way less common today. Given that there's much less of a stigma for unwed mothers, this would be a risky game to play. You see a lot of cases where the baby daddy never marries the mother. This would have been socially unacceptable 30 years ago, making it more likely that the father would bow to societal pressure and marry the pregnant woman. Today, pregnancy doesn't necessarily mean marriage.

Except on the "didn't actually get a vasectomy" and "didn't pull out in time" thread we learn how entrapment is abuse. But like many things in life, I guess it's only abuse if men do it.

His stupidity in trusting his partner (lesson men: never trust women -- if you do, they'll just call you stupid later for doing so) does not justify her abuse.

If you can't trust a person you probably shouldn't have sex with them. You sound like someone who will be happier with a blow up doll you can abuse to your heart's content

STFU u dumb puta. I guess you don't get it. The whole point is that there can be major consequences to trusting a person, which is sad but true.

A blow up doll can't get pregnant. Really, if you don't want to deal with your own BC - a blow up doll is the way to go. Get one.

You'd be singing a different tune if the topic was about men who remove their condoms during sex without warning.

Well, I wouldn't be sleeping with a guy who would do that, first off.

Regardless, if you do not want to get pregnant, you take charge of your own BC. That goes for both men and women. Double coverage.

Because.... that is using birth control? And then backing out? Do you have cognitive difficulties?

I live and accept my life by the consequences of my actions. Don't need an operation to change that for me and was sure to be careful when having sex with my XGF. Ironically she found a man who was stupid enough to impregnate her and now she is taking him to court for support. Better him than me.

Right? This has to be a low class phenomenon.

Having sex with someone is not the same thing as saying "I want to have a baby with you." Obviously, a woman who LIES about being on BCP while peeing on HPTs is not someone you want to be with long term. Same thing with a guy who would suddenly remove a condom during the middle of sex. Bad news.

Usually the slip ups that happen with BC do not involve deliberate attempts to get pregnant or to impregnate another unsuspecting person. That is why it is so important to be responsible for yourself and your own BC.
