What's Appropriate? A Young Couple Marries...

I would bury him with wife #1 so the kids can go visit both their parents together.

Second spouse always loses out, and that is how it should be especially if there are no kids. Best never to remarry, and second wives are usually evil stepmoms, hence adult kids have to visit the grave of the evil step mom? Of course, evil stepmom wants her way, that is why she is the second wife. if she was first wife material she would have been married earlier.
Spoken like a true bitter divorcée
No, happily married first spouse, for over 23 years. But as an orthodox christian, first marriage is the only marriage to me, there is no possibility of second marriage in my eyes.
In this case Wife 1 died. Even orthodox Christianity allows for 2nd marriage in this case.

Also Wife 2 doesn't always lose out. In many cases they benefit from all the hard work Wife 1 put in and built with DH.

Next to the first wife. They are the ones that share children, so after they both pass it would be nice for the kids if both their mother and father were in the same place to visit.

What is the view like from up there on your high horse?

I got a beautiful righteous view!

You really sound like a bitter 1st wife.....

Chances are kids would have him moved after Wife 2 dies anyway. So Wife 1 should cremate and give them 1/2 the ashes. Or spread them at sea together.

I don't agree....at all....

She sounds unbelievably angry for a happy 1st wife. Maybe the thought of DH moving on and bring buried next to someone else troubles her.

What if he and Wife 2 ALSO have kids together.

So in other words we all agree Jackie O should've been returned to JFK's side??

Second wife was just filling his time....not his true love. Second wife should know her place.

So 2nd wife lies alone for eternity??

(Which leaves 1st wife to lie alone.)

This is ridiculous. "Lies alone?" You're worried she won't have someone to chat with?

And you know this how exactly?

Maybe his first marriage was miserable & he finally found lasting happiness with his second wife.

Or maybe he truly loved both his first wife & his second wife. The idea that no person can ever have more than one "true love" through out his or her life is the stuff of cheap romance novels.

Yes she was but do we agree this was appropriate?

If nothing else this thread-with some silliness-should give a lot of us something to think about.
