Why anyone would want to walk around on a daily basis with something that expensive on your person is beyond me.
I am assuming she is materialistic in general. Your friend is someone who cannot appreciate the simple beauties in life. And, my bet is she will remain single. |
I'm glad to now know anyone who thinks and feels that way. |
I try to reason with her about it, but she said she's very independent. She makes over 130k owns her own single family home in Loudoun County...etc. So she's doing pretty well. She's just not compromising on the ring price. She said she wants what she wants and that she doesn't ask much from a guy except for the super expensive ring. |
She better find some hillbilly that won the lottery last week |
Well, OP, chances are you'll never have to be her bridesmaid. Sounds like that's a good thing! |
Lol. She's not wealthy, and she's not young. She'll never meet someone with the sort of generational wealth she desires. |
Loudoun County homeowner barely making six figures? She's too low of a class to be in the same social circles as the kinds of people who will drop $150,000 on an engagement ring. Sounds to me like she just doesn't want to get married and is setting up some ridiculous conditions to ensure nobody ever meets them. If she's serious, well, good luck to her on "compromising" on everything except the ring price. It takes two to make a compromise, and nobody's coming down the pike. |
150k. Ugh. She is hoping to marry poor. |
You missed my post stating that she has a wealthy family. |
Doesn't matter. She missed the boat on snagging a loaded guy, unless she's going to do the Anna Nicole Smith thing. |
I don't think she cares that she may have missed the boat. I think her requirement won't change. I think she's happy with the way things are currently. Shes not looking for love or has any desire to get into a relationship. She just has this ring requirement.
Hypothetically speaking how would you broach that subject when getting to know someone? I mean you can't wait 12-14 months to say hey I want a 150k ring and if I don't get it I'm gone. When do you bring something like that up?? |
I thought my 17,000 ring was way over the top. |
So then what's the problem? |
It is. Return it. |
Your friend is likely to stay single |
