I think you'll be in somewhere certainly before the end of summer. |
English dominant Oyster Prek4 can't even accommodate all of the IB siblings. |
| We matched at Janney PK4, inbound, no siblings. I'm actually surprised, I thought our chances were low with no siblings. I didn't apply to any other schools as we planned on keeping our kid in his current situation next year if we didn't match. |
That's a great option. It doesn't seem that Oyster will happen. This is why they call it a lottery--it is, in every sense of the word. |
| We got matched at Van Ness (PK3), but it was anti-climatic since we had guaranteed entry....lol |
Live in NW, work near the Mall. AT is actually easier (closer to my regular commute route) than Hyde. The trailers don't have a lot of curb appeal, though. We're in a daycare now that has served us well -- swim lessons in the summertime, long hours and flexibility on dropoff and pickup, etc., and those features will be hard to part with. Although it would be a breathtaking relief to have all that tuition back in the bank. |
We got into Appletree LP PK3 with a number in the 100's last year, they get pretty far into their waitlist. |
| What do people think are our odds with a #10 WL position at Lee Montessori? Sounds like we could drop down that list based on sibling preference and people reranking their lists? |
I was going to ask if its for PK3 or 4, but its probably a decent chance either way... |
You will have to cover summer camp, aftercare, professional development days, conference days, Spring Break etc. Moving from private daycare to DCPS reduced my childcare bill by about 55%. I could have brought that down somewhat more with a cheaper summer camp. |
| It's for PK-3. I'm hoping we have a good shot. |
Maybe you should've included Van Ness in your list? |
That's promising! We're #69, so fingers crossed that actually happens! |
Re-ranking won't affect anyone's chances at all as it doesn't change your position. Siblings can change things. |
