Pre-K3 and PK4 Lottery Results

We're in the 40s at Hyde with a preference. Anyone want to weigh in on how many inbounds folks are on that waitlist? Last year I think it was only in the 20s, so more inbounds applied (and maybe there was also a baby bomb in the zone??).

Totally shut out again - PK4. My kid should NEVER buy a lotto ticket.

If you're shutout, what are you going to do? I'm looking into day care and nursery school options. Or maybe extending my sabbatical from work. Ugh!

We were WL #6 (I think - somewhere right around there) last year in the PK3 Spanish class at Cleveland, English dominant. The list did not budge a single spot. The school confirmed that that meant we were #6 on a waitlist for 8 spots, i..e worse chances than if we were #6 on a regular PK3 class of 15 spots. Sorry - your chances are low!

PK 3 #6 on Waitlist for ITS. What's been the movement like in past years?

We are #15 at Eaton. Can anyone comment on the chances?

You have a good chance, depending on how sibling preference impacts the WL (if there is movement in the upper grades that pulls in PK3 siblings, that could slow movement and even move you backwards on the WL). Good luck!

Ha. We are in the 100s or 200s everywhere. Thank God we're happy to keep our kid in her daycare's PK program.

In at Lafayette PK4, in boundary, but giving up the spot (accepted at older siblings' private school).

I'm with you. I was beginning to wonder how everyone seemed to have such relatively low WL numbers. Our lowest WL number is 100, highest is 210.

I am in upper 40s with no preference, I was surprised that my number was still so low! Hoping for Francis Stevens, where we are in the 20s, no preference.

PK3

50's for Peabody (OOB with sibling pref)
60's for AppleTree LP
80's for Tyler SI
30's for Tyler traditional <- seems to be our best shot at the moment
170's for Maury
280's for CHM
270's for TR 4th
320's for SWS
130's for Ludlow-Taylor
Beers matched (but not sure we'd choose this over just staying in our current daycare's preschool program, and trying again next year for PK4)

Can you set up visits at school you have a colorable chance of getting off waitlists or is that frowned upon?

PK3--got into Bancroft (IB), which was our top choice, but a little nervous about the logistics given the offsite location and setting ourselves up for 3 years of two separate drop-off/pick-up sites. (Our second was born 3 weeks after the cut-off. Yuck!) We're honestly a little stunned to have this option....

Depends on the school. Some are still doing open houses.
