Another "what have you been loving from Trader Joe's" question :)

I'm looking forward to stocking up on some mixes next trip--cinnamon quick bread and the brownie mix. I also love their OJ and european style yogurt.

I love threads like this because there are always new discoveries at TJs and sometimes the place is so clogged you can't really wander in a daze like you can at target...

Finally someone mentions their European Style Yogurt. This is the best yogurt available, anywhere, PLUS it's organic. My toddler eats it out of the huge tub with a spoon. I put it on everything. It is so delicious, and I can't figure out what "real brand" they're going after with this one.

I also loved one of their new frozen entrees, I can't remember the name but it's Greens and maybe chickpeas and sweet potato? It's supposed to be a west African inspired dish. I loved it, but the portion size was too small, so I was forced to try to make it myself for dinner one night

I have been working in Europe for a few years, and I think often and longingly of Trader Joe's, imagining what I'm going to buy/eat first when I return to the US in a few months. I miss:

1. expresso/chocolate chip cookies (if these have been discontinued I will be devastated)
2. the canned salmon in the blue/pink cans (I know this is weird, but I used to just put balsamic vinegar on it and eat it for breakfast)
3. the TJ kefir (they have kefir here, but it isn't the same, and the last bottle I bought here had FUR in it)
4. pretty much any of the produce, and the Just Chicken and Just Salmon...

Oh, my God, I miss Trader Joe's.

They have these marinated mini mozzarella balls in the cheese section- forget the brand but it's an Italian import company in Brooklyn. Small tub with white lid. They are SO good- I used them for caprese skewers for a recent baby shower I threw and three people asked me what I marinated the mozzarella in. I just showed them the container.

Oh yeah! I'm going tomorrow because we are out of salsa. Theirs is the best. I will buy 6 jars of it. But I'll stock up on Indian and some various cheeses, too. The trail mix with dried raspberries and chocolate and something else is my kids' favorite. I like the one with candied pineapple.

Which salsa and which Indian do you like?

TJ is such a junk food mecca. So much to choose from.

Bad wine choices too. Yum.

Roasted and salted sunflower seeds, also salads
Roasted red and yellow peppers, same as above
They were out of premium chocolate ice cream my family loves so I picked up the vanilla/chocolate mix with caramel - o.m.g.
Frozen cod pieces, really handy for fish casserole I make
Nutty Bits gluten free nuts in dark chocolate
Strong bars, jalapeƱo and BBQ, both good
French roast ground coffee, good value
And daffodils, narcissus, etc. for my older relatives to brighten their days

I buy the frozen cod pieces too. Would you mind sharing the recipe for the fish casserole?

Polenta with spinach and carrots - great for a quick lunch with a fried egg on top.
Also, no one has mentioned Pound Plus chocolate! I use the 72% for baking and it is really good quality, and the best deal around.

There you are! we were waiting for you! Yes, much like Whole Foods, Balducci's, Harris Teeter, Mom's Organic Market, Giant and Wegman's, there are both healthy and nonhealthy options! Also, whole and processed foods at all these places! Whole would have THOUGHT!

But shut your mouth, the wine selection is awesome and you blow.

Lately I am loving the spicy Italian chicken sausages. I've been doing whole30 (on round 2!) and they're compliant and I far prefer them to the Aidells chicken and apple sausages most whole30ers eat.

Use the preserved lemons in a Moroccan chicken recipe. Really divine!

The skerry good butter (both salted and unsalted) tastes so much fresher and better at TJ. It's also cheaper.

Ah autocorrect! I meant Kerrygold butter.

You sound defensive and irrational.

Defensive, no. Irrational, well, I just pointed out that all grocery options have "junk food". The wine, I was joking, obviously. You, you sound fun though. Like a lot of fun.
