I'm curious, OP, why you or anyone else think this is strange.

HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW YOUR FATHER PEES?!? WEIRDO.

Not weird. I know how mine does? There's open families and non open families...

If men were supposed to sit down to pee, you wouldn't have toilet seats with lids that you can lift.

Oh, do you lift the toilet seat with your genitals? I lift it with my hands.

Curious. What do you think are the reasons for toilets having seats that raise and lower?

An ex-bf started sitting to pee at night after I made him clean up his mess every morning... seriously, there was pee on the floor ALL AROUND the toilet. I'm talking about a radius of at least 3 feet all around. It was as if he whipped it out and waved it around.

He said he just couldn't see well at night.

New poster here. I know how mine pees because when he leaves the bathroom, the seat is up and drops all over the base, rim and floor. Not wierd.

Toilets have seats that raise and lower because there are men who stand to pee.

Which is different from what the PP said, namely that men are supposed to stand and pee because toilets have seats that raise and lower.

It's strange because men stand to pee and ladies sit to pee. If a women stood to pee, I'd find that strange also.

OP, I think you have issues. Why do you care about this?

Yes, men stand to pee, except for the men who don't, which includes the men who pee while they're pooing.

Guy here. Never heard of sitting. No idea why anybody would do that. Maybe if you are a low pressure old dude.

I think obese men or those that are really small sit down to pee...they can't get their penis to point in the direction that it should.

Really? Unfamiliar with hovering?

Every woman on this board "stands" to pee when they are not in their own home. Take a poll.

Here's my question -- and I truly don't know the answer, because I've never watched. Do men wipe the tip after they pee? Because I think they don't. They shake it and the pee goes flying. That's why it ends up on the back of the bowl, on the floor, on the side of the vanity....

Have you asked?

I can't say for sure, but I suspect DH sits to pee. The toilet seat is always down. I've never hear it "clack". There are no mysterious drips or sprays anywhere, after 11 years together.

I don't really care how he pees. I kinda appreciate that he does so neatly, without knowing how that's done.

And yes.. Not every couple knows the elimination habits of the other. I'm actually okay with that one gap in our relationship.

I've seen women peeing standing. Does that count?
