| How do people know this? I know mine is worth a lot but I'm too embarassed to look at the insurance and I don't really want to know! |

No engagement ring. Wedding band, yellow gold, $100.
Years later I bought myself a three stone sapphire and diamond ring and platinum band, which I wear in lieu of my original band. Cost was about $6k. |
I asked DH how much he paid. I still feel bad about how much it was. Mine was the $2400 custom setting. I wear it every day. |
I think my engagement ring was around $3500-$4000, and my wedding band was $300. DH's wedding band was $800. I haven't worn my rings in a few years because they're too big now (lost a lot of weight), and DH lost his wedding band in the ocean while we were on vacation. So we look unmarried.

| 18k 2 carats. 2k diamond band |

$20 wedding band at potomac mills.
$800 engagement ring, which is actually an anniversay band. Got married at 24, bought a house instead. house will be paid off before oldest kid leaves for college. (and it's tripled in value)diamonds are a stored value, they don't apprciate Husband still loves me the same - I married him because something else on him was large. |
| $18K engagement ring, wedding band around $1500. I'd probably spend the same amount if we had to do it over again. In the grand scheme of things, spending less wouldn't have impacted our finances and there was/is no need to spend more. |
| $16K and I would've been fine with something less expensive, as I'm not a big jewelry person. (I couldn't even tell you anything about my ring--carats, cut, etc... It is 3 square diamonds; center one is larger than the 2 side stones.) |
+1 |
| I think the engagement ring was around $20-25k & the band around $3k. I wear them both every day. I LOVE jewelry - all kinds (real, costume, whatever). |

$2600 engagement ring
$600 band |
Because we picked it out together. |
Same here. I traveled a lot. I did not want to worry about having my finger cut off. Diamonds/very expensive jewelry does not travel well, is not for a very active lifestyle/adventure sports, or for a job where you get your hands dirty - or where you cannot wear rings. |

Wedding band: $110
Husband: Priceless |
Then you might as well buy a created diamond and give the difference to charity or even invest it. What's the point in paying $25000 for a "real" stone if it depreciates instantly and loos no different than a created stone? Does it make you feel like your DH loves you more? I honestly don't get it. |
