Seriously? I've never met anybody else that has this obsession. People look at me strangely when I fill up my cart at Costco with the Palms but anyone who knows me knows about my little problem.

Another poster here who loves hearts of palm - and my 10-year-old daughter shares my obsession. She and I can polish off a jar in 10 minutes.

I'm from what I've always referred to as a "oasis" (read, educated, cultured, liberal area) in the south. In my late teens some of my more southern friends turned me on to salting watermelon. To this day, I feel guilty because fresh, ripe watermelon is in many way God's perfect food. But ever now and then I sprinkle it with salt, and it opens up a whole new world of taste.

I love tuna salad on potato chips sprinkled with Louisiana hot sauce. More of a lunch than a snack, but tasty nonetheless.

OMFG. Must do this!

3rd vote for seaweed (actually DD's favorite food on the whole earth, I think).

Watermelon and feta cheese. Also good with kalamata olives. Delicious!

Another vote for seaweed. I buy it at H Mart (Asian grocer) and it's way cheaper than Trader Joes. You can buy the snack sizes in a larger bulk package.

Raw fennel dipped in light vinaigrette with lots of orange zest.

Haha, too funny -- our favorite (but not really low calorie) is frito chips with cottage cheese and sometimes salsa tossed in for good measure!

Baked parmesan kale chips:

Spray 2 large baking sheets with olive oil spray. Wash and dry kale, tear into bite size pieces. Spread evenly on baking sheets, mist with olive oil, sprinkle with salt. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350, shaking midway through so they evenly crisp up as they shrink. Top with shredded parm, bake an additional 5 minutes so edges are crisp but not burnt.

Where do you find whipped, non-fat cream cheese? I thought all whipped cream cheese had to be full fat to get that texture.
