I'm not nauseous but I have days where I have no appetite at all. - S |
OOhh. Thanks for thinking Lola is cool. ![]() I am no longer feeling sick but this week I"ve been having a lot of BH contractions. They were even keeping me up last night. I hiked over the weekend and have been at two conferences this week so maybe I"m standing/walking too much. Anybody else? -Lola |
I have been having some period-like cramps the past few days (nothing bad or lasting too long though). What do BH contractions feel like?
Are you guys feeling the baby move? I really don't know if I am yet or not!? At our ultrasound this week, SHE (we found out we are having a girl!) was an active party animal, so I feel like at 20 weeks, I should feel her by now... but I still cant tell if it is digestion (aka gas) or her little wiggles? -early riser |
Hey Early Riser: You are probably feeling BH contractions...those period-like cramps. Have you felt your belly during them? Does it get really hard? That's BH and I looked online and found out that they start at 20 weeks generally but for second and later pregnancies, could start earlier. Since this is your first, it might take longer for you to feel your active party animal. you still have strong abdominals...I don't. I've been feeling my active party animal (also girl) for a couple fo weeks. Both comforting and distracting. She also doesn't like under-belly waist bands...she presses back!

Saw this on another forum and I thought it was funny.
Who here will be half-baked tomorrow on 4/20? |
I"m a couple of weeks away but must remind myself to celebrate half-baked day. 15:46, if you are tomorrow, Congratulations! |
15:46 here, I'll be 19w5d tomorrow, so I just miss it! But my anatomy scan is Monday when I'll be exactly 20 weeks, so I'll have my own little celebration then. |
Hi all! I am due Sept 2nd with my first. We had our 20-week appointment and anatomy scan this past week but decided to wait to find out if we are having a a boy or girl. It is a tough decision! This is my fourth pregnancy - I had three consecutive miscarriages last year. I am so thankful things are going well this time.
When are you all going to take your "baby prep" classes -- not childbirth, but things like breast feeding, CPR, etc? Also, once we give birth, where do you find "new moms" groups you can get together with? Thanks! -A |
I'm late to see this post but I'm due Sept 18 and live in Fairfax, VA. I'm interested in hooking up with other local moms to find out about good child care, pediatric doctors, prenatal yoga, and all other first time mom related things!! |
LidaRose, this song randomly came up on Pandora mix (The Music Man), don't ask. But that's my handle.
I just started looking at child care classes, and sent a list of to the hubby for him to pipe in on what he wants to do. I just found them through Fairfax Hospital, so if anyone has recommendations for or against them, let me know. I think I'm going to do BF somewhere else that'll have a support group for after. Beyond that, no clue??? I just joined a meetup group, so y'all might try there for "new moms" group. Maybe if this thread takes off, we'll have an end of year "do" to meet the real humans. This morning was a pain. I successfully put on the last pair of black slacks that fit (unfortunately mostly to do with my tubbiness not the baby), walked out the door and fell. Not only did I ruin those standbys, but I had to go back in and figure out a Plan B. Nor did we have any band aids or neosporin. |
I'll be half baked on Thursday ![]() Lots of BH contractions here after running so I'll do other things instead.... I did a one day class with my first at the hospital. It was nice and useful but my sense is that very little prepares you for the D day. Ana |
Congrats to all the half baked ladies. How did you celebrate? - LidaRose |
Where did everyone go? |
I'm halfway done!! I celebrated by wearing a maternity dress for the first time. ![]() - S. |
We're really getting shown up by the other months!
Loving this time - lots of kicking (I can even see it if I'm lying down!) - and after having a great 20-week scan I finally feel calm. The days in the early months went by so slow, but these days are flying by. -B |
