I'm 14 weeks and I just ordered a bella band and bought some maternity pants. I haven't worn them yet but will probably start very soon!
Anyone else have a ton of back pain without a lot of weight gain? I'm dying! - S |
Ladies;
Are you feeling movement? I have been feeling movement on my left side, low for about a week and I'm 15 weeks along. Now this is #2 but my pregnancy tacker says baby is the size of a turnip. Can even a moving turnip make me feel movement? Seems unlikely so thought I'd check to see what others are feeling. --lola |
Hi All
Am due Sept 28 with my first. Hopefully I don't end up in the October group ![]() |
Yes, I thinks its due to the girls. Relief for me comes from working out. Yoga to release, strength training to prepare for more weight. Ooo and baths. Little piece of heaven (not too hot) |
Re back pain.
I have hip pain and found great relief with heating pad. I was concerned about how much I used it but did a little reading on heat and pregnancy and basically as long as your body temp doesn't rise, it is fine. SO heating pad won't heat body temp as much as bath, hot tub steam room, ect. |
Also, I am on my second, 16 weeks, gained 3 pounds and look about like I looked 5 months with my first...maybe 6. It's crazy the second bump. |
Ana here.
Regarding the baby movement yes you can feel it much earlier the second time around. It's a combination of knowing what it feels like and weaker muscles. It's my third and I would swear that I started feeling the baby occasionally at 13 week. Now at 17 week it is party time non stop in there. I just learned it is a girl, so exciting. I think we will tell the first two this week and I will have to tell at work soon. |
ANA:
This is Lola. I think I have to tell my entire work community this week. Over the next 3 weeks, I will be seeing most of our members and I work at a membership-based org. This is my second and I am clearly pregnant. i am shocked that you made it to 17 weeks without telling. I too am 17 weeks...look about 20 weeks from last time. I'm also convinced that I am feeling fetal movement. I feel a lot of flutter/rumblings in one place for a day or two and then that place moves. Pretty cool. |
S here, I'm in week 16 and I feel like my belly size doubled this week! Last week I was wearing my jeans, no problem. This week I'm in maternity jeans. I didn't think it would happen so suddenly.
I keep expecting to feel the baby move, but so far nothing. |
Good morning!
"Early riser" here (I liked how someone referenced that previously haha). Is anyone staying on top of their fitness regimen? I think I am asking to either make me feel better (I.have.not.been) or to motivate me by making me feel guilty. I usually run regularly but since feeling awfulllll during the first trimester combined with the winter months/being dark by the time I got home from work, I soooo have not been (I know, excuses, excuses...). I have attempted to run ummmm, about 1.5 times. I also think its because I have never had boobs in my life until getting pregnant and geeze does it make running harder! Seriously, I finally understand the importance of a good sports bra. But I do walk about 3-4 miles daily (not really by choice- its getting to/from metro + work). I have never really been all that into yoga but am thinking I should join a prenatal class or get a dvd to do at home? Wondering what you gals are doing for exercise? Also, I am 20 weeks next week & we find out if it is a boy or a girl ![]() Hope you all enjoy this sunny Sunday! |
New poster here. I am due Sep 20 with my first (17 weeks now). I am a runner, although not super hard core. Since pregnancy I have cut back to 3 times a week, 10 miles total, and my pace has slowed by about 45 seconds per mile. I sometimes feel some mild discomfort, especially at the beginning of the run, but it eases. However, after running both Sat and Sun, I felt a lot of soreness around my abdomen yesterday, so I don't think two days in a row is a good idea anymore. I also walk a mile a day (sometimes more) during the week on my commute.
I had gained 11 lbs at my 16 week appt so I definitely need to keep exercising! My goal is to keep running until the third tri. Then I will switch to walking and also take a prenatal yoga class. Like the PP, before getting pregnant I assumed I wouldn't want to find out the sex. But I changed my mind immediately, without even thinking about it. I don't have a preference and don't really care for planning purposes, but it is a piece of info that helps me "know" and bond with the little person inside me. |
Welcome new poster!
I am no runner but I like to walk and hike. I went on a hike over the weekend. Slow pace, pretty good elevation gain, maybe 3 miles total. Not far. After I had BH contractions (that soreness in abdomen you described) for a few hours pretty constantly and then on and off all day. Weird. Didn't really like it. I walk a lot (to metro, to work, downtown) but there was something about that hiking that made a difference. I love hiking and with the weather turning nice, I"m going to want more. Will talk to Dr. about it at next apt. Friday. I am impressed you continue to run. I felt terrible in my first tri! --Lola |
Hi There -
So glad this thread was started! I am pregnant with my first (fourth pregnancy) and due on September 18th (almost 18 weeks pg). I am 29 and had three consecutive miscarriages over the past two years. Have finally calmed down some since I am starting to show and we recently found out we are having a girl. Have our anatomy scan at the end of the month and will hopefully be able to relax some more after that. Anybody feeling movement yet? I think I have on a few occasions, but its intermittent. |
I used to run 3 or 4 miles 3-4x/week but I've just about stopped. I'm sad, because I miss running. ![]() I haven't gained much weight but I need to stay active, it feels weird not to. - S |
I keep trying to come up with a non de plume as cool as Lola.
I've been working out 4-5 times a week although my level has decreased over all. I had to stop doing intervals at a point just too much effort to breathe. I'm older so I feel like I need to be up for a 4 year old, let alone pregnancy and delivery. Is anyone still nauseous? It seems more frequent than earlier. |
