Why do I have hairs growing under my chin (on my neck!!)

Anonymous
I started getting that in my late 20s. I pluck the ones on my chin and shave the ones under my chin. But I am hairy in general and have unwanted hair everywhere. My arms are incredibly hairy too.

I have dark hair on my neck, heavy hair on my chin and light blonde hair round my lip. And I'm 21 I dont really get periods either, could it be hormone problems?

Assuming PCOS, what can be done?? I have it, and have yet to find a dr who can help me. Metformin does nothing, bcp makes me gain weight... I want to do something abt it, but what can make my horomones change??

Hi,

I have discovered the same thing, over the last few months. I'm 31. I had one on my neck, which was really long (!), i was mortified I hadn't noticed it! But since plucking it a couple of times, it hasn't come back, however, a couple have now sprung up on my chin. I have to beg my Husband to take 5 minutes to pluck them for me! (TMI, but I also have a couple of hairs around my nipples, which have been there for years, which I pluck regularly, these show no signs of abating!) Plus my navel is fuzzier, since i've had a my baby, but i've just left it alone, as I've got enough plucking to do as it is! I put it down to hormones after being pregnant and/or age!! I've dyed my hair since I was 12, so have no idea if I have any grey hairs, but am tempted to grow it out just to see!

I am 35 years old now, I had the same problem when I was 30 for nearly two years ... couple of long dark hairs growing on my neck -at the same time I had had a gynaecology problem an ovarian cyst....which had grown to 10cm I had a full assessment from the doctor and he went through symptoms for a cyst and one of the symptoms was abnormal hair growing on the neck or even on the face- I had emergency surgery for the cyst and the hairs have never grown back -I was told its to do with the hormones so its worth getting checked out although everybody's different I assume there's allsorts of other reasons too.

I've had these for years. For me, it is genetic (I'm 38 now, but have been plucking for at least 10-15 years).

All I can say is that you get used to plucking these.

I do agree tho - do not shave. Pluck (if just a few) or wax (if a bunch). I know nothing about laser treatments...

I am So Sorry that you have this problem, I truely empathize as I have the same problem, started with a few that are easy to pluck with tweezers then they multiply into too many, so what can I do but shave em off. Now I have em on my throat and I shaved em n now I'm sore there, also the peach fuzz seems to get longer and more noticeable. Its like what the heck, not cool for a woman to have beard and Quakers, So Embarrassing, I So Empathize with you. I Hope you find an answer soon. Good Luck.

Oh, the things you guys have to look forward to. I'm 60, and it takes ages for me to corner my extra chin hairs now. UGH!!!
