People like you give soccer parents a bad name. Stop being a jerk. Its competitive for the kids playing. |
+1 zero complaints and super proud they persevered |
Don't forget VSA and Arlington. One year we played the same two teams 4x between tournaments and regular season games. |
I wouldn't complain too much - this happens a lot because there are only so many teams at a certain level and they often get paired together. My kid played the same GA team 3x as an ECNL team because they're the only one good enough to make the top flight of the local tournaments. |
That's awesome!!! Those are some of the situations that create core memories for your kids! We played on turf, I hate playing on turf all the time. Creates pre-madonas. Kids are spoiled, would trade 10 turf games for one good squishy grass and mud game. |
Omg, the word is prima donna. |
| 😂 |
Maybe he meant pre-maradona. |
How would that make any sense? Were players before maradona considered spoiled? |
that's almost as funny as what's going on in the GFR thread. Dreary weekend turned out pretty entertaining after all |
| I’m thinking “pre-Madonna.” Maybe taking serious dance lessons and not yet pivoting to singing. |
| Heard there was a big fight at the Virginian. Anybody see that? |
This happens at the lower level too. My younger child’s team has has played against at least 3 different teams 2 or 3 times this year between league play and tournaments. Interestingly they have tied two of the teams twice. I guess they are very evenly matched. |
Years ago, before GA/DA/MLS Next and when U.S. Youth Soccer still had all the good teams that weren’t in ECNL, I checked out the national championships at the SoccerPlex. I saw a game between two teams, one from Florida and one from … maybe Ohio? Far away. The game was kind of rough. I asked the parents from one team if they knew anything about the other team. “Oh yeah - we’ve played three times this year.” Great. |
No, but I heard about it too. Sounds like a coach was involved too? |
