Mem Day Tournament Check In

It's a showcase in the pouring rain - YAY hah

Delco Memorial Day tournament cancelled like 5 flights, but otherwise all games on regardless of turf/grass for Saturday at least.

We played at Muldoon’s.

It was muddy fiasco in the parking (mud)pit. But I guess I give them credit for playing through it.

SAC tourney here, U littles. Switched to turf fields but otherwise all as scheduled.

In looking through the results of various U10 and U9 brackets, the SAC teams are absolutely smoking the competition. This is our first time doing travel soccer, is that pretty typical?

Really sucks for the teams that travelled far. Especially the ones that dont play in a lot of tournaments. Tournament insurance is another scam...if there are cancelations teams should be refunded money

Fully support this - there are some tournaments that average just about 50-66% success rate and they still get away with it. It was an interesting mix of teams at my daughter's tournament and I love seeing those smaller far away clubs doing one big last tournament together.

U10 Girls, Virginian tournament. Cold and heavy rain for all of the games, but luckily they are on turf. Hard to believe it's the end of May!

Virginian tournament - turf fields thankfully but the weather was miserable today.

Surprised with this take on the boys side. Top U9 bracket has a SAC winning currently against “meh” competition, the U10 top bracket has no SAC team so they aren’t absolutely smoking anyone, and the U11 top bracket has the top U10 SAC team and they apparently got smoked on Friday night. The U12 top brackets has a 2014 team that is in 2nd place and a 2015 team in first against, again, meh competition. I would not consider this a dominant performance unless I worked for the SAC marketing team.

Virginian. Miserable but close so I can’t complain. All turf. Just seems like very few teams nowadays.

My kids "top" team is playing cannon cup. If this level is too bracket im so pissed this is what our club or coach picked this weekend

Kudos to all these people keeping tournament soccer going this weekend through this crazy weather. DS is in the Potomac tournament and the rainfall has been huge. The staff and club coaches have all been amazing though. Good luck everyone in the closing stages!

Williamsburg cancelled nearly all flights

Embarrassing they did not have a backup plan or really the foresight to cancel ahead of time when the forecast was obvious.

Shame on them! Feel bad for the teams from 5+hours away.

SAC Tournament: They should just cancel the flights playing on the grass fields at this point. You can’t call this soccer…the ball does not even move on the ground, players can’t dribble/pass and are slipping and falling everywhere, etc.

I think I would preferred a canceled tournament over standing in this miserable rain.
