It’s that time of year- let’s debate comfortable but not too hideous sandals!

Omg, what the hell are these. Please just wear sneakers.

I find Born and Sorel to both have comfortable and somewhat stylish sandals. That said, I would not wear sandals all day if I'm walking everywhere, I'd wear lightweight sneakers. I don't care if that means everyone can tell I'm a tourist because...I am a tourist. I do bring nicer shoes for meals out or less active activities.

These are my “best” comfy sandals that aren’t TOO ugly that I wear for European vacations / cobblestone streets. Agree that a white sneaker or simple flat sandal are best, but it’s been too hot for sneakers, and too much walking (even to dinner) for a flat sandal so this is where I’ve landed. Curious if everyone thinks they are terrible?!

So, of course you added pictures of much better options that fit the OP’s requirements. Oh, wait…!

The issue is that we don’t post pics because there is nothing that meets the OP’s demands of a cute but orthopedic shoe.

The larger issue is why every single forty something on dcum thinks they need an orthopedic shoe to walk around for an hour on “cobblestone” streets. Let’s be honest that these women aren’t spending eight hours on their feet on the back roads of Italy. They’re going to spend a brief stint on the very well maintained streets of Rome and shouldn’t need orthopedic shoes for that.

But cue every poster on this thread who’s going to say no that they really are the 45 year old who has 19 different issues with their feet.

But why do you sound so angry? If this sets you off... yikes.

These are cute and they also make TEVAs that are brown or beige. Original and slim universal.

Not cute, but they atleast fit the no hideous category

See, I think these ones are passable in black if the dress is good. I could not walk in them all day however.

The op specifically said that she doesn't need a lot of arch support or anything, so I don't think she's looking for orthopedic options. She just doesn't want to twist an ankle or slide around walking on uneven ground. What have you got for that? (I already posted my suggestions).

I have and like these as comfy but (in my opinion) not hideous. Plus my special middle aged foot issue is a bunion that these cover. https://www.pikolinos.com/us-en/mahon-w9e-0912.html?dwvar_mahon-w9e-0912_color=BRAND

For me, Birkenstock Gizeh Flowers works for every situation except a serious hike or formal dinner.

I wear these and sneakers. It’s fine if people think they’re awful.

I'm not the OP, but I am in fact 60. Sorry if that offends you.

The link goes to the off white ones but fwiw I have the brown and orange ones, which I think are cuter.

So post something better.

I don't need or wear orthopedic sandals. I just wear whatever I want. Sneakers, flip flops, birks, slides. They all work.
