Freshman on varsity has become the new “I play D1” brag. |
Please post scores. |
How many do you expect to play on any of the other teams with rosters above 25 players? Just curious… |
A lot of those kids could be double rosters and will actually be playing the majority of the time for JV. |
A few are swings, which is basically appeasing parents and kids to say they made varsity but many are not and will be cheerleaders. I think it’s tough for some private schools to cut kids given the tuition the parents play and honestly they are good club kids, some college commits. Give credit to schools that put committed kids on JV and don’t play the politics. |
| I don’t know how many girls would be swing players if they have a full varsity and JV. |
| SPSG following St Mary’s lead and posting scrimmage a score on social media. Embarrassing to brag about “winning” a glorified practice. |
Think they treated it more like a game than one would think. Only minimally played bench. |
| I am surprise people are bothered if scrimmage scores are posted. |
What was the score? |
FYI you can find it on Instagram. According to SPSG’s feed it was 10-7. |
Social Media is a poison to our society, I gotta laugh at the commitment posts by 8th graders to HS. |
it looks like it is an expiring story, if that is what they are called. i don’t have a problem with them posting the score at the end of clips that expire. much better than a permanent post of a scrimmage score. and blame the managers more for the score, as i doubt the coaches are paying that much attention. but i wonder if they would post any clips at all if they had lost. their sideline is still doing the dumb & annoying songs for the goal scorer. |
I just think it is tacky and isn’t a good look. SR posting a picture in front of a scoreboard saying they were number one being a recent example. Never in all my years of playing soccer and lacrosse did I think my team won or lost a scrimmage. |
