No dog in this fight, my kids are in DC, but I've seen this work well for getting to practice with varsity, learn, get better coaching, see how to lead, and then when they're juniors and get playing time it pays dividends. Just the other side of the argument. |
STAB plays at SM today then scrimmage Saturday vs Maryvale. SM big advantage getting STAB 24 hrs after a game. I expect 15-8 type win for SM. |
And in a stronger program they tend to get in the varsity blowouts and can play with "next year's" team. |
I don’t know that SM has the offense to score that many against a good team. They were one of the lowest scoring teams last season. Most of their games had both teams scoring under 10 goals especially when you throw out the games against GCS and Garrison. |
STAB has the scouting report on two teammates of their M&D player. They can be neutralized, unlike the Princeton commit at RPCS. I’d go 8-7 SM in OT. |
SM 11- STAB 4 |
| STAB needs to stay in their DC lane. Not ready for Baltimore. Big difference. |
Well 7 goal difference was on the money |

Spalding posted their scrimmage score on Instagram too. Could not find either of St Mary’s scrimmage scores on instagram. Which of their accounts did you see it on? Just curious. Their contest against STAB was a non-conference game I believe (feel free to correct me if I am wrong) |
Eh, putting it in the caption of a post with photos from a scrimmage isn’t terrible. I’ll allow. SM was a graphic, and part of their story feed that expires in 24 hours. |
Wait, so you’ll allow it to stay up permanently vs it expiring in 24 hours??? Your logic is flawed and makes zero sense. Sounds more like you have an ax to grind against SM. |
| It seems to be standard now for teams to say they “won” a scrimmage. SPSG and Maryvale both did it too. If it doesn’t count, it wasn’t a win or a loss. |
Should probably just play an instrument if winning or losing a scrimmage triggers you. If you keep score, then it’s a win or loss. Perhaps turn off the scoreboard for scrimmages… |
