It affects us because it brought to light the blatant boundary residency fraud allowed by Gatehouse to occur in FCPS high schools, and FCPS' complete negligence in enforcing basic residency checks at our high schools, in a very public way that can't be awept under the rug.

Boundary fraud leads to increased enrollment in other schools and the expensive pointless 5 year rezoning farce of people who play by the rules.

It affects all FCPS families and taxpayers.

Fetish? You're an azz. I don't even live in FFX anymore but want to know about this. What happened at Hayfield is a perfect example of dishonesty and everything that is wrong in school sports. That the school system supported the horrible, dishonest behavior of some school staff is a big story. FCPS punished staff who questioned what was clearly terrible behavior. There's no fetish here. It's shock and disbelief.

MO for those in charge for past few decades (at every level and regardless of political affiliation) has been to claim they're "investigating" and then wait for the inevitable short attention span of public to move on to something else. While this doesn't rise to "Pentagon Papers" level of importance, it's critical to start holding public officials accountable for their decisions and actions and not let them hide behind paperwork, "privacy" concerns and miniscule public attention spans. Only thing that will get this report released is good old public pressure - keep up the good work!

If only our most major local newspaper (the Washington Post, which may have national aspirations but is also local) ever actually published anything negative about FCPS...

I'm not saying they should only publish the negative, but they literally refuse to engage in any sort of accountability for local school systems over there in the education section of that paper.

So are you a paying Wapo customer? I'm so sick of people complaining about the press who actually never support the press. Pay more the minimum for your subscription and maybe we can keep a free press in this country. Free news has killed the papers and good reporting but people who will spend $12 for a crappy cup of coffee per day won't spend less per day to support the press.

The law firms we are using are billing close to $2000.00 hour.

Most of these lawsuits are avoidable if they just governed as moderates or enforced district residency checks like in the Hayfield cheating scandal.

Imagine the teachers we could hire with that money.

You have no clue how many of those lawsuits are "unavoidable". I'd bet quite a few are related to special ed and we know the school system never follows the rules wrt providing students what they need.

You may be in an alternate universe but in case you haven’t heard, the Post’s actual journalism staff has been decimated in the Bezos years. There used to be a huge Metro staff. There is barely a skeleton crew now.

Again why is this? You can't just blame Bezos. Everyone expects to get the news for free. Younger people couldn't care less and are completely ignorant as to how important a free press is in a democratic society.
