If you went somewhere for holiday break, how much did it cost?

15K on a Caribbean cruise over Christmas for 2 adults and a teen. We stayed in a suite and were totally pampered! Came back very relaxed!

Went to Park City from Dec 28-Jan 2. It was way higher than I thought it would be
- 2 adult passes for 4 days of skiing @ Deer Valley= $2800
-Ski school for those days for our 6 year old daughter- $480 per day, plus then they charge you a child lift ticket which is $100 something
-United flights for 3- approx. $3600
-Hotel even after some points- $1600/night (and this was one of the best rates)
-Food in Park City isn't as high as other resort towns but it also isn't as good- approx $2000, oh and we paid $225 a head for NYE dinner
- ski rentals ( we have our own boots but rent skis) - $80-90 per day

Plus only 25% of the Mountain was open

England for 10 days, 3 people. Bath, Cotswolds, a few days staying with friends in London. I think we managed just under $5k (had the crappiest Iceland Air tickets)

Forgot about the dog kennel. That was $3000

Tell us more. Must have been for a pack of dogs! Or more than 5 nights away

~2.5k pp flights, 5-600/night hotels which mostly include activities and often food
Ends up similar to the skiers

5 people, Big Island for 6 nts with 2 hotel rooms, rental car, flts from CA, 2 days of diving, guided hike, resort meals including nicer xmas eve and xmas dinners and a massage. It was lovely and our only family vacation this year due to surgeries so we did felt comfortable splurging

This sounds incredible. Good for you for splurging. I was speaking to a friend who said she was done buying holiday gifts for her kids and is going to spend the money on holiday travel for the family from now on.

Los Angeles, includes flights, lodging, car rental. 7 nights. The flights were not that expensive as we booked early but the hotel was decently expensive.

Skiing in upstate NY. About 3000 for 3 people for 6 nights. Includes AirBnB, lift tickets, and food.

Well Africa is 3.5x the size of the continental US so you’d have to be more specific where they went

We went to SW FL. Flights were $1,000 each so we used points and just paid for one ticket. Rental car and airport transfer was $1,200 plus a nominal amount for gas. We stayed with family so didn't have to pay for a hotel (would have been $1,000+/night). Food and excursions ran about $2,000. For the nine-day trip, we spent about $4,200 for a family of 4 (vs. $15,000+ if we were paying full price for a comparable trip and no points/family). Back in 2019, this same trip was more like $3,000 plus $3,000 for hotel. Crazy how times have changed!

Yes had to drop off a night early because of early flight and then didn’t pick up until two mornings after we got home since they were closed for the holiday. More than one dog, luxury suite. Ridiculous imo.

Interesting. The “hotels” looked a little too rough for my liking but that makes sense that they are so inexpensive.

Crazy. I used to think $10k a super expensive vacation. I can’t imagine spending $30k

Why do your dogs need a "luxury suite"?
