If you went somewhere for holiday break, how much did it cost?

We are thinking about a trip next Xmas and I imagine the prices are especially high. But how much were your flights? Hotels?

We drove north, with stops in NY, MA and VT. Hotels ranged from free (with points) to $700/night.

At least 2x what it normally would. We rented a villa, and the. Christmas/New Year week is significantly more to rent than at other times, and there was a seven night minimum. Look at rates now for where you want to go.

Mexico. High season. 2 weeks 2 people $7000 including flights. Flights would prob be half and hotels 2/3 in a lower season. Other costs about the same. But also had to book activities earlier. Couldn't get tickets for Frida Khalo’s house

+1. We went to Colonial Williamsburg and it was like $700 bucks of all of us even though we splurged and got a carriage ride, but I know other people who spent like $10K to go to Disney.

+2 And I know people who went to Europe and Asia and it probably cost 20K for a family of 4. We went to Florida and stayed with relatives rather than a hotel, so it was maybe 2K for flights for the family/food/activities.

It was a bucket list item but my sister in law rented an Airbnb for $10K for a week in Hawaii. Flights ;since many are west coast were about $350/person.

Housed 6 adults and 3 children.

They rent an Airbnb each holiday since they are disperse. She said this was a little more expensive she usually spends $5-6k.

They’ve done Arizona, Montana, Colorado.

We went to Camelback Mountain in the Poconos.

Rental car (we don't have a car): $500
Two airbnbs for 16 people total, divided by 3 families paying, 5 nights: $2000 per family
Activities (skiing plus rentals for 3, tubing for 3, water park for 3): just under $1000
Food: We got groceries and cooked, so no different than at home

Total cost: $3500 for our family
