We are not making any non-refundable travel plans right now. It's unusual for an American president to threaten NATO. Has never happened before. |
Plus there’s always the danger that China will invade Taiwan |
Really? China has a lot of interests in Venezuela. |
| What do you think about travel to central/Eastern Europe: Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia? |
lol. Who knows how long that will last… |
Poland has been one of the safest places in Europe. |
Same. We have traveled all of the world. I have never been worried until now. |
Do you not read? Do you not understand Putin's plans with Trump? WTH is wrong with your brain? |
Haven’t been watching the news the last couple weeks???? |
I’m not sure how old you were and how extensively you traveled in Europe at the time but there was definitely anti-American sentiment then, and it was pretty generalized and uncomfortable. This was when we renamed French fries into Freedom fries and such things. More recently there has been actually a much kinder, friendlier reception! Some see it as generally crazy times we live in, some feel very sorry for us, and yet others sympathize with the political right (right parties are gaining traction and are in charge now in several countries, as many countries have been dealing with rapid large scale immigration, terror attacks…). |
WTH is wrong with yours? |
NP Why? |

Headed to England soon and not worried at all. Traveled pretty extensively this Presidency and last and never had any issues. Not particularly proud of being an American atm, but not going to stop it from letting me live my life.
Any time I've seen anti American sentiment, it's had nothing to do with politics. It comes down to their own behavior. Being loud, not following the social norms of where they are, being disruptive, etc. |
So, I currently live in one of those countries. I’m not sure if the question is more geared towards safety or treatment as an American tourist? On the first point, we have not had any safety issues. Are locals wary of Putin and disgusted with the war in Ukraine? Of course. But there is no feeling of an imminent threat and in this day and age, there is not going to be some surprise attack should Putin go that route.
To the second issue, for months since the election I cringed when I told people I was American. But people are surprisingly not into talking about politics, especially American politics. Actually the only people that brought it up are Canadian expats, lol. I haven’t felt any outward hostility. As with any big international trips, it pays to have travel insurance just in case. It’s such a great region to explore! |
Are Putin and Trump planning to partition Poland or something? If you have intel please share, because your comments are otherwise puzzling. |
