| And even more inconsideration for working families…you’ll wait until the morning to let families know? |
All the teens saw it. It only takes one to see it, then it spreads like wildfire on social media. |
At least 5 minutes. |
| Loudoun is having a 2 hour delay |
Tons of people saw it. Many people screenshot it including teachers! |
|
Not happening. It's going to be mostly rain. |
| They just sent an email stating they are watching the weather. |
| I see FFX Christian School is listed on NBC4 as being on a delay. I wonder if they saw the post and submitted theirs. |
My middle schooler is in bed by 8:30. It’s an early morning! |
| This is crazy. All my children’s friends reached out and were so excited. Now they leave us clueless still deciding? Horrible. It’s 9pm! Make a decision🙄 |
Lol I saw the other thread on the library supervisor and am wondering now if she is also the head of the communication dept. |
| Ridiculous to wait and call it in the morning in a district this size....thousands if people need to make a plan. Just delay it now, teachers can cut out busy work and kids can still get a solid day if school without the morning weather drama and headaches. |
My HS kid is the one who told me about the delay and then the one who told me it was a mistake. She finds out everything before I do and yes, is up later than me. |
100% |
It has nothing to do with the size of the district. It has everything to do with how unpredictable the weather is. Of course everyone wants to 'know' in advance ... but guess what, the weather isn't 100% known in advance. If FCPS made a call now, and it turned out to be the wrong call, the level of weather drama you'd see then would be far worse than just waiting until we have a better read on the actual weather. Some last-minute calls are part of the deal with living in Northern Virginia. |
