This. People turn down ivies for full rides elsewhere or better programs for their major (cmu for cs over an ivy). |
| The newbies will see once the results start showing up in their kids’ portals. It’s humbling. |
Only on DCUM-land. And they all had 1400 SATs. The hundreds and hundreds of rejections that were reported? They must have had 1200s. Keep drinking the koolaid, class of 2026 moms. Report back here in a year. |
Yes it’s why nobody from APS went to Princeton last year . Which has the best need based blind aid in the US
|
|
What does this all mean?
More athletes and legacy with lower scores? Or higher acceptance in North Dakota, Alabama type places for more diversity? |
Need based…yes…but donut hole families don’t qualify for that…but they do at top 20s that offer free rides. You are making things up. I know families who have turned ivies down for free rides elsewhere. Smart |
Do public school parents not have access to Naviance? It's the dose of reality that a lot of parents of "high stats" kids need. |
Which is why out counselor always said aim for above 700 in each section and you have met the threshhold for nearly every college. |
That's actually a lot when consdiered as a percentage by state and territory. Take out 11% international in a freshman class, divide by the states and territories. |
|
What did surprise me was that schools and USNews kept promoting these clearly nonsense "not even wrong" numbers, amusingly at the same time that some schools were making a fuss about rejecting kids for studying statistics instead of calculus!
School profile reporting under TO was the nail in the coffin confirming to me that college admissions is total bullshìt. |
Anyone who uses "high stats" is stupid. 60%ile 90%ile, and 99.9%ile are all "high stats" . |
Wait. Do you really think these are ALL of the acceptances?
|
What is "Threshold"? Up to25% got below 25%ile. To some extent 75%ile is a boosting factor like other achievements (since it goes into the stupid USNews ranking) |
I have no idea what you are trying to say. Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or stating facts |
