Look at Arlington County publics. Arlington Magazine. Out of 4 high schools - 2,000 seniors only 0-2 total students are admitted to one of the Ivies, Duke, etc any give year.

One Arlington school:

Cornell (x3)
Duke
U Chicago (x2)
dartmouth

Yes. Proving the point. Missing 6 of the Ivies. Those numbers are very small for wealthy, big Yorktown HS.

You are cray. You said: “Look at Arlington County publics. Arlington Magazine. Out of 4 high schools - 2,000 seniors only 0-2 total students are admitted to one of the Ivies, Duke, etc any give year.”

What I said did NOT prove your point which was there are 0-2 ivy admits a year out if four Arlington schools and I showed you one school alone with 4 ivy admits. Not everyone posts results. We have no idea who applied to other ivies. You think that just because a Yale admit isn’t listed that people applied from this school and were denied. We don’t know that. But we do know you are wrong…and the schools you’re claiming have no ivy admits DO have ivy admits (several).

Saw that and my kid didn’t bother wasting an ED or SCEA

+100

Grade inflation is known

Unfortunately this is true. If a high school has a low AP score profile and an unusually high number of 4.0s—the rigor is known to be less. It’s why a lot of publics don’t do as well.

Hey Dummy, that HS is in the table. Look at the results in the magazine. All 4 HSs are in it.

MCPS (the entire county--all the W schools, etc) sent 4 kids to Harvard last year, 4 to Dartmouth, 6 to Columbia, 8 to Princeton, 11 to Yale.

That includes legacies, athletes, URMs, etc so you can cut those numbers in half (at least) for the unhooked. Probably even by 75%.

That would mean (very optimistically--assuming the unhooked are 50% of total numbers): 2 unhooked to Harvard, 2 to Dartmouth, 3 to Columbia, 4 to Princeton, 5 to Yale. Out of an entire county where hundreds and hundreds of high achieving kids applied. But yes, go head and submit that 1400. I'm sure your number will be picked.

^ yes. Out of 4 high schools total. It didn’t say per high school. So Yorktown had 1 Duke and one of the other 3 had one. Out if 4 HS there was only 1 student or 0 total admitted at most Ivies

I can’t believe this actually needs to be said, but…

Arlington Magazine doesn’t report ALL admissions (or matriculations).

It’s self-reported data.

You’re either trolling or dumb AF.

Let’s hope for trolling.

From personal experiences it’s usually the same kid getting the multiple admits. A kid gets into 3. (Not APs) they aren’t usually spread among the class.

Do you really think there are all of these Ivy acceptances that didn’t get reported?
