College and University Discussion
|
Yes, they are.
- Someone who grew up in VA, went to UVA and now lives in MD. |
plus the op included DC, and everybody knows UDC gets better every year too. |
Plus there’s Galudette. |

Virginia: better colleges, better drivers
Maryland: meh |
Have you been to VCU? Yes it's in a city but there's nothing appealing about it. I go there often and it's not in a safe part of town. I would not want my daughter going to that school. |
| In a word, yes. Simply have a better range of options. VA is one of the top states in the country for offering public education opportunities beyond HS. |
| Yes, by a large amount. Plus, Maryland sucks. Who would want to live there? |
This urge to move as far away from your family as possible for college is very American, specifically white American. Not everyone in the world thinks of their families as something they need to flee for their “freedom.” It’s a very weird impulse compared to the rest of the world. |
| Maryland is a great state. I lived there for many years and loved it. But Virginia has far, far better public higher education. Virginia is one of the very top states in the country for that. Maryland is not. |
Many many people do. Educated ones too; and most likely more educated than you. |
Yet tens of thousands of girls do. Maybe you’re just a p*ssy, Ms. Queen of the Cul-de-sac! |
Tens of thousands? Wow. Sorry you're so triggered that you have to resort to name calling. Breathe. Its only 7:47 in the morning. |
Doubt it. 3 graduate degrees here. |
+1 between the two, I’d rather send my kids to UMBC |
I did not know that. DC from MD was thinking about VCU, but now I think we need to rethink that.
