The homes in Aspen Hill remind me of those near Lake Braddock Secondary School between West Springfield and Burke in Northern Virginia.

Aspen Hill is conveniently just up Georgia Ave from the Glenmont Metro. So Metro convenience should help maintain the area’s desirability.

Close proximity to the shadiest Metro Station in MoCo. You can get assaulted walking to your car from the Metro or go to the County Boy market. The area is desirable and tres chic indeed!

You sound unhinged. It doesn't even make the top 10:

I live near here, it's fine. Glenmont metro has always seemed fairly safe.

The Glenmont shopping center is just so so, Country Boy market is no longer open and was the only reason I went there anyhow, so doesn't sound like you have lived here in a while pp.

My neighborhood, which is more Glenmont than Aspen Hill, has been pretty safe except for a few car break-ins over the large 15 years.

The only downside is shopping and retail. For some reason, whoever owns the Glenmont shopping center is letting it deteriorate. There are some decent grocery stores around Aspen Hill but that's about it. And. Kohl's. Most of the time I shop in Olney and Rockville.

The Glenmont Shopping Center looks utterly depressing now. It used to be packed with so many people decades ago and now it's just a rotting piece of existence. Same thing from what I heard with the Pike Center, though I have heard that they are releasing and starting new businesses there.

That price is too high. Far nicer homes nearby are $700k.

Rock Creek cluster at Manor Woods. I’d describe it the same way. Our experience at Wood has been so so but we’re happy with Rockville HS. The neighborhood has treated our family well.

Maybe 5 years ago.

I'm surprised many parents have had mixed thoughts and experiences with Wood. I went there back when it was still "junior high" and my experiences were lovely.

Lots of MS-13. I know someone who was recruited and when he refused to join they killed his dog.

I would avoid.

I went inside and ordered food, I sat down and the beggars came inside and started to bother me for money. I walked out top the car and left. I'm thinking, that area is just like northeast DC. A real dump with beggars.

What an incredibly useful, relevant, and insightful comment. Would love to get your take on the current status of the bond market or perhaps the Middle East conflict.

Do you live in Aspen Hill? How close do you know this "someone"? Do you think, maybe, you might sit this one out?

Ms-13 is actually much more heavily concentrated in NoVa.

Oh please. They killed his dog? MS-13 actually kills real human beings. They don’t mess with dogs. This is just fear mongering.

They're eating their pets!

People leave their Amazon packages out all day, sometimes multiple days if they're out of town. 20853 here.

As someone who also lives in NoVa, looks like we’re getting the MS 13 treatment now. Sorry Wheaton (apparently MoCo residents stereotype MS 13 with Wheaton)

Are you close to Dowlais Drive / Flint Rock Road / Arctic Ave? We’ve had lots of Amazon thefts here and many burglaries for some reason.
