American Select tryouts

Do you think girls who are waiting for AS MD team tryouts in May would take a spot on All America on 3/30 instead? Is All America better competition?

competition at both is very good. Just look at the rosters 2024 of 26' at AS. MD team and DC/VA team. Pretty much every player when D1.

Do you mean pay $500 to register for AA and then pay another $7-800 in the event you make AS? Why would anyone do that when the events are equally as good?

Fake news

Actually, it's not.

Why is it not fake news? Just interested in your take. Not stirring the pot here.

Not the poster but the amount of coaches watching is crazy at AS and if you are on 2028 or younger making the all-star team could change a kids trajectory. NB is also great with a ton of coaches there too.

I think the hate is that some of yall's kids didn't get selected....

Why wouldn't college coaches go to both since they are consecutive and relatively close? The idea that they only go to one is very obtuse. I've been to both with two different kids, same coaches. The one thing I'll grant you is they spend a bunch of time watching their new commits as they do scouting at AA because the old class is there playing. That doesn't happen at regular tournament. I also heard the Corrigan's are working towards a day that of you didn't play in AA as a Sophomore, you aren't qualified to play in their Junior, and then Senior game. If that's true, AS better get a better TV deal.

College Coaches send people to both. AS is a complete money grab and ripoff. This is the last event of the year and has little to zero impact on being recruited. It just makes money for the organizers and coaches. More times than not it also does not allow your player to be seen positively because most girls play hero ball and not as a team. Some of the worst lacrosse across the board that is have seen.

I’m responding to reiterate that coaches are at both, my kid has done both and we saw coaches at both.

All our kids journeys are going to be different - just enjoy the ride before it’s over!

College coaches DO go to both. They go to AS on Saturday and AA on Sunday and stay to watch their commits in the senior game. We were at AA last year And every HEAD coach from ALL top 25 teams was there.

ALL,
This is not worth the money IMO. Last year had it and now this year. Several girls made the team that didn't try out. They submitted film etc.. No way this is a fair selection or worth it IMO. Go do New Balance. If you didn't make the team you are lucky and saved $800+ .
