Looking at the DC rosters, AA and AS 2028s were relatively equal, and both went 1-3. If the best players from the two rosters could pick one event and combine next year, they would be competitive at either tourney. That would require some organization and communication, not to mention a tryout selection process that works, but would be interesting.

It means convincing the best capital kids to buck the AS capital system. AA is the better event.

Most of the families that play in AS are there for the beach. Many have beach houses or rent in Dewey or Rehoboth to enjoy a mini vacation. The tournament is just part of the package.

That’s unfortunate. They haven’t won a pool play game in 3 years. Maybe time to switch it up.

Same probable that you saw in club season. Playing equal playing time against a team who isn't. DC/VA just isn't talented enough to overcome that. Of the teams we played, Jersey (who won the tourney) was the only team who did equal PT against us. To be fair, we should have beaten Colorado on the last day, but their goalie played outstanding.

AS 27 Cap Blue players got all the Orange players they thought would make them better - comprising two thirds of the team between the two so equal PT should not have factored - and still went 0-4.

The cap parents equal playing time cope is hilarious. Heros, M&D, YJ, team 91, etc all do equal PT during HS too. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have D1 kids staying there and playing behind better D1 kids, and their kids rarely leave during HS. They beat cap teams bc they are better.

If you think Heros, M&D, or YJ had equal playing time this year, then you don't watch much lax. Agree Capital needs to get better, but YJ and Heros stars almost never left the field. M&D is closer, but not even.

My kid plays for one of those programs, 50/50 PT for showcase events. Such a weird cope.

It does not carry weight with BIC. The better Cap players always do AA after freshman year.

Until AS has a nationally televised Senior Game, showcasing the best in the country they won't be able to compete with AA.

BIC wasn’t a thing 3 years ago, now it’s the #1 summer showcase, no reason to think AS doesn’t take next step and get some TV deal for seniors.

Does AS even have rising or graduating seniors?

All American lost their title sponsor, which was under Armour. What does that say? Under Armour still supports all American football?

No. They tried and they couldn't get them to do it because kids would go to AA as rising seniors to be an option for the senior game.

Lol, so dumb. UA pulled its money out of lacrosse equipment and sponsoring the AA game because it was in financial trouble, and can you guess why it still sponsors the football AA game? Do you think it has anything to do with the popularity of the sport? UA’s financial troubles don’t have anything to do with the AA vs. AS debate. AS is great, but AA has more star power overall, and at every age group.
