Significantly less girls than last year. A little different format too.

Parents are starting to realize the market is saturated with these events. Back when there were only a few it meant something. The organizers have found the formula for fleecing parents - "Elite" events every weekend.

We were there for the morning session (2029 and 2027). There were very few 2027 players. 2029 had decent attendees and we saw girls from M&D DC, BLC, Pride, Stars, Yellow Jackets, and a few other clubs. However, we know of many strong players from several clubs who didn’t tryout.

American Select is very expensive compared to some of the other events - does it offer that much more in the way of recruiting??

Why do so many girls from Maryland try out for the DC/VA team? Is it just because it’s easier to make than the MD team?

Yes. DC only has one team as well, so they would rather be on that team than the B team for MD

And also because the tryout location for the DC-Va team is much closer for those in the DC suburbs in MD rather than driving north of Baltimore for a tryout.

Episcopal High School is a lot closer to Moco than Bel Air, MD.

You realize several girls from Virginia play for M&D, Skywalkers, and hero’s. Just because you saw Maryland backpacks. , doesn’t mean girls are coming from Maryland
