Down the home stretch of the campaign, Donald Trump has doubled down on his message of Christian nationalism and white grievance. While his speeches have indeed become more meandering and more extreme, they nonetheless contain a coherent appeal that taps key elements from authoritarian playbooks around the world, including 1930s Nazi Germany:

The once proud nation and the Christian institutions that made it that way are in decline and in danger of being destroyed. We must fight, fight, fight to make this nation great again.

The nation was once racially and religiously pure but is now being contaminated by elements from without and defiled by enemies from within.

The political opposition is not just misguided or wrong on policies; they are sick and evil people who want to destroy the country.
Only one political leader, chosen by God for this moment, can save the country. Only he can restore order and the dominion of white Christians in America. He alone can bring us back to being ”one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God.”

Trump criticizing DEI to blame a white woman who crashed a plane is not evidence of white nationalism. His was insinuating that she got extra points for being a woman in whatever criteria gets used to promote pilots - is it true? I don’t know and he’s obviously jumping to conclusions but that doesn’t make it white nationalism. And if the military is lowering otherwise applicable standards based on race or sex, that IS a problem in my book.

I asked about POLICY and you responded by pointing to evidence that some racists like Trump. Yup, some do. And so what? Some communists/socialists vote Democratic and hope to use Democrats to their ends - doesn’t make Democratic POLICY communist or socialist. Also I know some racist Democrats too!

White Christian Nationalism (and the trade war plus his mass deportations) are distractions from Trump’s intent to install a fascist state where his executive powers have no constraints:

The point is he has exploited white Christian. Nationalism to justify the extremist agenda in p25. He is already in the process of hijacking the US federal government and dismantling Dept Education and USAID (even though both were established by Congress and he does not have authority to authorize Musk to dismantle them).

The billionaire was never elected to office or been confirmed by the Senate for a high-level government job, but in just a few days, has gained access to federal personnel data and the Treasury payment system through his position as head of President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency.

DOGE’s other targets include
- US. Agency for International Development, which closed its headquarters Monday in anticipation of shutting down entirely;
- the Treasury Department, which pays the government’s bills;
- the General Services Administration;
- the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and
- the Education Department.

It is not so much policy as an ideological government wrecking ball.

Basically liberals scream about “white nationalism” because that’s supposed to get mindless people of color on their side. If this is true - and it seems very hard to believe at this stage although Presidents Musk and Trump’s hijacking of the US government also seemed very hard to believe a short while ago - I for one will stop attending church.

At the moment, my church is part of religious resistance to Trump and P25 but if they dismantle democracy altogether, which is growing more likely by the day, we could be labeled as enemies of dear MAGA leaders and be shut down.

The Bible does describe false prophets in the books of Matthew, Mark, and Revelation. These prophecies warn that false prophets will arise in the end times to deceive people.

Matthew 24:11: "Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many"

Matthew 24:24: "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect"

Matthew 7:15: "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves"

Revelation
Revelation 13:11-18: Describes the "final false prophet" who will unite with the Antichrist in a one-world religion


It is truly horrible to see religion being misused for amassing power, money and ill gained glories.

This is happening for sure but it is hard to believe that most Americans would go along with it since less than half the population identify as white Christians.

Most of the world is not white (only 15% are white) and only around a quarter of the world’s population are Christians. It is hard to believe world leaders would agree on any one world religion apart from no official religion.


Who knows where all this insanity will end up?

This is Highly unlikely IMO -

1. Trump won’t be able to repatriate Palestinians from Gaza as both Jordan and Egypt have rejected this proposal.

2. Only a quarter of the world’s peoples identify as Christians. There are an estimated 10k religions in the world. Both India and China the two most populated countries in the world are secular states with no official state religion.

But who knows where all this current insanity will end?

I am not sure and I certainly don’t interpret the highly symbolic book of revelation literally.

However, we do seem to be nearing the end of sustaining life on earth given climate change tipping point being passed and Trump’s behavior certainly fits the false prophet/ anti Christ job description.
