I think you are conflating white evangelicalism with pentecostalism, the latter in some elements peddles the prosperity gospel, and mostly in its black churches (here and in Africa). You are showing you have no idea what these terms mean even though you intend well.

This is easy. Churches cannot participate in elections. But they can talk about theology, policy, and voting. What does religion mean if it does not cause people to act? Bishop Budde--for example--was jus talking basic theology. To not have done so would have been a problem.
