The source who worked in media projects says Meghan’s own relationships with employees tended to follow a familiar pattern. She would be warm and effusive at the beginning, engendering an atmosphere of professional camaraderie. When something went poorly, often due to Meghan and Harry’s own demands—such as a teaser for Archetypes being released five months before the show premiered and before there was any tape to promote—Meghan would become cold and withholding toward the person she perceived to be responsible. The source says it was “really, really, really awful. Very painful. Because she’s constantly playing checkers—I’m not even going to say chess—but she’s just very aware of where everybody is on her board. And when you are not in, you are to be thrown to the wolves at any given moment.” In practice, they say, that manifested as “undermining. It’s talking behind your back. It’s gnawing at your sense of self. Really, like, Mean Girls teenager.” Marie had a different experience with Meghan: “She’s just a lovely, genuine person,” she said.

The person who worked in media projects read stories in the tabloids about Meghan “bullying” palace aides and couldn’t imagine such behavior actually happened. After working with her, though, this person realized, “Oh, any given Tuesday this happened.” While it beggars belief that Meghan actually shouted at a palace aide, as has been reported, a person who interacted with her professionally says, “You can be yelled at even if somebody doesn’t raise their voice. [It’s] funny that people don’t differentiate between the energy of being yelled at and literally somebody screaming at you.”

I'm not going to read this article, but these paragraphs are insane. Translation:

Meghan was really nice to, oh let's call her Anon, until Anon royally screwed something up. And then she was not quite as nice, but Anon was insanely jealous of the attention that non screwups got. And Meghan, like many other bosses the world over, has an awareness of her employees, their performance, presumably their presence, which Anon perceives as calculating and cold, and also bullying.

Also, Meghan yells without raising her voice (pretty sure that's a U2 lyric) but it's like being screamed it.

Anon sounds insane.

But anon represents so many individuals in several locations around the world who had the same experience with M. The exact experience.

Who never go on record, ever. Isn't that just so convenient. No one has ever gone on the record against her.

It is very typically Vanity Fair to have a 30-page "in depth tell all" in which no one dishing dirt actually goes on record but they get a lot of gossip columnists and bloggers to weigh in on their opinions (which are already freely available in their columns and blogs).

But for all that talk of changing the world and help people what is she doing now? A fluffy lifestyle show about elevating cheese and crackers or some shit. Who is that helping?

Do they though?
Who cares for these children of theirs and why are their parents never with them except in once a year PR holiday shoots? Why aren’t they ever out running errands? Just curious

"Two sources say a colleague with ties to Archetypes took a leave of absence after working on three episodes, then left Gimlet altogether. Several others described taking extended breaks from work to escape scrutiny, exiting their job, or undergoing long-term therapy after working with Meghan. The person who interacted professionally with her says, “I think if Meghan acknowledged her own shortcomings or personal contributions to situations rather than staying trapped in a victim narrative, her perception might be better.” They added, with the soggy laugh of a plebe rendering judgment on the Duchess of Sussex, “But who am I to criticize Meghan Markle? She’s doing great.”"

But that seems like an extreme reaction. It’s too over-the-top to be believable. Multiple people taking a leave of absence? Needing therapy? Just from Meghan’s behavior? Are these people in their early twenties who don’t have much experience in life/resilience?

I get having a difficult boss and quitting a job but this seems odd, and a bit hyperbolic. Who are these “sources?”

^^Granted, I didn’t read the article but the excerpts are a lot of “this person said this” and “this person said that.”

I’m not a fan of Meghan, particularly because she left the royal family but continues to use her title “Duchess,” and seems to think it means something in the US, but it really doesn’t. If she cut ties and then just tried to live her life, there would be more respect, but she’s trying to use her position to gain access to grandiose opportunities that she hasn’t really earned. And she seems to carry herself in a way that is “Royal” and inaccessible or detached from the common Joe. That’s boring. I don’t want to watch a show with that vibe.

I have no real opinion about Harry. I never really followed the royals.

That’s not what gaslighting actually means

NP. I wouldn’t have used the term “gaslighters” but I do think Harry and Megan have a victim mentality.

Even on this thread, people seem to be blaming the Royal Family, William and Kate, “haters,” and disgruntled employees for the fact that H&M haven’t done anything significant in the past few years.

Like, it’s everyone’s fault except H&M that they are floundering? Ok sure.

Face it, Harry and Megan aren’t that smart, aren’t that special. Making jam and being a “lifestyle” influencer? She’s no Diana.

That last paragraph of the article is spot on.

Anonymous wrote:I wonder how he feels hearing she was shopping around a post-divorce book. I’m sure she’s gaslighting him and telling him it did not happen. She needs him by her side as she launches her new Netflix show. If it’s successful, she’ll stick with him until she’s cemented herself as a lifestyle influencer. If the show is not successful, and I predict it has mediocre success at best, I see the end of their marriage within two years. At that time, she’ll sell a tell-all book that totally throws Harry under the bus.

I think they will ultimately get divorced. However, I doubt this post-divorce book thing happened. Notice they said that there was no written or formal proposal (aka evidence).

So VF has known about this for years, and gathered these sources. About 2-3 months ago, Rachel/Meghan made the wrong person mad, and they gave the green light for this article to be published.
I feel horrible for the children.

Also Meghan haters: yes I have plenty of time to read a 30 page article about the people I hate.

Harry and Meghan: We are leaving royal life for our privacy and our family. Leave us alone!
Also Harry and Meghan: Have you seen my tell all…Netflix Special, Oprah interview, book or bought some of my jam, seen my kids on the cover of People and watched “With Love, Meghan”” (oh the irony)

They never said it was about privacy. They wanted to be free of the Royal Rota. You would too.

Don't be obtuse. They said they wanted to be out of the newspapers and "avoid scrutiny." Except for when they want publicity for their jam, Netflix and books - then they want press and coverage. But they only want positive press. That's not the way it works. As the Netflix Exec who worked with them said, "they're grifters."

Nah, they left because they didn’t want to live in a world where they were scapegoated to cover up William and Kate’s missteps or issues. They were right to leave. Imagine if they stayed, this year would’ve been a complete train wreck for them.

I think most people are conflating them leaving the royal family with Harry’s lawsuit against the Sun for a complete invasion into his privacy (eg literally hacking and wiretapping his phone for over a decade!). You can want a public persona but not want your privacy invaded in an illegal way and lies to be printed about you. That’s not hypocritical.

We've heard this all before. They were outshining, they are so much better, but it's been years. They have nothing to show for supposed popularity, skill, hard work, etc. That is the point. It was always smoke and mirrors.

DP. None of that means they weren’t outshining though. The entire BRF is quite drab. And there’s really no evidence that anyone else that left, save Diana, would’ve had popularity or success outside the firm.

From the article (below) They either can't say what they really think or don't have any ideas to actually express. It comes across as either inauthentic or boringly bland hot air. They don't seem to really stand for anything or say anything with conviction, unless it's about the Royal Family. So people tune out.

"On the August 2022 cover of The Cut Meghan did to promote her first—and only—Spotify podcast, Archetypes, she said, “I’m, like, so excited to talk,” and “It’s like I’m finding—not finding my voice. I’ve had my voice for a long time, but being able to use it.” When repeatedly asked by the interviewer what she wanted to say with her newly free voice, Meghan demurred. “I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song,” she said, noting, “I’ve never had to sign anything that restricts me from talking. I can talk about my whole experience and make a choice not to.” "

Yes. When she brings along a camera crew to record herself paying respects, it gives the appearance that she’s not genuine. This sums the biggest problem as to why she hasn’t been embraced by the public- she lacks credibility and genuineness.

Oh my goodness. Yes she went to Uvalde. No she didn’t bring a camera crew. There were camera crews at the memorial capturing everyone who stopped by for b-roll/still photos.

And I don’t care if her haters think it’s bad that she went. Her presence was appreciated by the community members, including the family of Irma Garcia who has kept in contact with her ever since.
