American Hustlers: Meghan and Harry

The source who worked in media projects says Meghan’s own relationships with employees tended to follow a familiar pattern. She would be warm and effusive at the beginning, engendering an atmosphere of professional camaraderie. When something went poorly, often due to Meghan and Harry’s own demands—such as a teaser for Archetypes being released five months before the show premiered and before there was any tape to promote—Meghan would become cold and withholding toward the person she perceived to be responsible. The source says it was “really, really, really awful. Very painful. Because she’s constantly playing checkers—I’m not even going to say chess—but she’s just very aware of where everybody is on her board. And when you are not in, you are to be thrown to the wolves at any given moment.” In practice, they say, that manifested as “undermining. It’s talking behind your back. It’s gnawing at your sense of self. Really, like, Mean Girls teenager.” Marie had a different experience with Meghan: “She’s just a lovely, genuine person,” she said.

The person who worked in media projects read stories in the tabloids about Meghan “bullying” palace aides and couldn’t imagine such behavior actually happened. After working with her, though, this person realized, “Oh, any given Tuesday this happened.” While it beggars belief that Meghan actually shouted at a palace aide, as has been reported, a person who interacted with her professionally says, “You can be yelled at even if somebody doesn’t raise their voice. [It’s] funny that people don’t differentiate between the energy of being yelled at and literally somebody screaming at you.”

Look, no one likes when their boss is upset with them, but releasing that teaser FIVE MONTHS early does indeed seem like a massive screw up that was probably not Megan's fault. So someone else did it, but it's Megan who gets dragged in the press for it, and she's mad at the people on staff she perceives as being responsible for that massive mistake.

This is not the reveal you seem to think it is.

Except they are saying the teaser was released because Harry and Megan wanted it released. They are saying that Megan insists on her own impulses but then is cold to her staff when her impulses do not go well and takes it out on them.

Also Meghan haters: yes I have plenty of time to read a 30 page article about the people I hate.

Harry and Meghan: We are leaving royal life for our privacy and our family. Leave us alone!
Also Harry and Meghan: Have you seen my tell all…Netflix Special, Oprah interview, book or bought some of my jam, seen my kids on the cover of People and watched “With Love, Meghan”” (oh the irony)

They never said it was about privacy. They wanted to be free of the Royal Rota. You would too.

Don't be obtuse. They said they wanted to be out of the newspapers and "avoid scrutiny." Except for when they want publicity for their jam, Netflix and books - then they want press and coverage. But they only want positive press. That's not the way it works. As the Netflix Exec who worked with them said, "they're grifters."

Nah, they left because they didn’t want to live in a world where they were scapegoated to cover up William and Kate’s missteps or issues. They were right to leave. Imagine if they stayed, this year would’ve been a complete train wreck for them.

I think most people are conflating them leaving the royal family with Harry’s lawsuit against the Sun for a complete invasion into his privacy (eg literally hacking and wiretapping his phone for over a decade!). You can want a public persona but not want your privacy invaded in an illegal way and lies to be printed about you. That’s not hypocritical.

We've heard this all before. They were outshining, they are so much better, but it's been years. They have nothing to show for supposed popularity, skill, hard work, etc. That is the point. It was always smoke and mirrors.

+1. Let’s even allow the assumption that they were the real stars of the family, outshining and outworking everyone else. They struck out on their own five years ago now, and none of their projects (the ones that don’t involve trashing the family) have been all that successful.

I think they're all smoke and mirrors and a bit grifty but...I also think that describes the Royal Family PERFECTLY and the bolded is absolutely correct. I like Kate and Will but I shudder to think how they'd be if they were tossed out to rely on their "popularity, skill, and hard work."

But, so what? That's not who we're talking about, start that thread if you want. The people still going on about Harry & Meghan "outshining" sound pretty pathetic at this point. The bar was so low that they "outshined" for about 30 seconds and have nothing to show for it but a tell all gossipy book and proceeds from a lawsuit from Harry's past. It's really nothing to be proud of. And now we've reached the selling jams and planning a pretty table scape end of the road. There's nothing left but the reality show or divorce book as they head into obscurity.

I used to be a fan of Meghan. Believed their side of the story. Then Uvalde happened and she brought camera men with her for a PR stunt. It was despicable. When the scales fall off your eyes, you start to understand what a pair of gaslighters they truly are.

Yeah, this part is not a surprise at all.

"Two sources say a colleague with ties to Archetypes took a leave of absence after working on three episodes, then left Gimlet altogether. Several others described taking extended breaks from work to escape scrutiny, exiting their job, or undergoing long-term therapy after working with Meghan. The person who interacted professionally with her says, “I think if Meghan acknowledged her own shortcomings or personal contributions to situations rather than staying trapped in a victim narrative, her perception might be better.” They added, with the soggy laugh of a plebe rendering judgment on the Duchess of Sussex, “But who am I to criticize Meghan Markle? She’s doing great.”"

It was the same in Pasadena for the fires. There are videos of her pretending to pass out water or find a way to make herself useful, but there's nothing for her to do there.

That’s nice. For me, when I saw people on social media profiting off conspiracy theories about Meghan, I finally understood what H&M were talking about.

Why wouldn't a hater read an article about them called American Hustlers? Are you stupid?

We don’t know if they are smart or not or sociopaths or not or anything or not.

The BRF PR machine is powerful, and many of your ideas and assumptions have been influenced by highly paid PR people and their agencies.

This doesn’t make sense. The only things they have done that have been successful have been to trash the BRF through the book and tv show. I don’t think the BRF PR machine did that. Everything else they have done has been vapid nonsense. It’s not the BRF PR machine’s fault (though it must have been an amazing day for them) that her podcast was painfully bad and wasn’t renewed.
