I have a question. If you are behind a car with questionable tags - clearly expired, probably printed at home, for a different model of car - are you allowed to pull them over? I believe many posters think MPD doesn’t want to do their job, but I suspect policy or guidance discourages it. It seems to me many other crimes are facilitated by fraudulent tags. |
It requires special training to identify expired or invalid tags. Do you have it? https://www.dcnewsnow.com/news/local-news/washington-dc/dc-could-soon-start-towing-cars-with-fake-expired-tags/ |
I could. But Id rather not risk my pension for it. The policy of beheading us for split second desisons leads to us not taking risks, like proactive traffic stops. |
Yup. |
| Police in Maryland have told me they don't do traffic violations like they did years ago. They have too much other crimes to take care of. They don't chase any speeding cars or motorcycles anymore unless they committed a felony. A lot of policemen retired. They have a massive shortage of officers working. The Government is not backing them up either. |
Rapes are significant underreported, murders are not. The underreporting rate for murder is very low. |
This is blatant misinformation. |
|
| Fake news. There’s no more crime. WE DID IT JOE!! |
| This post didn’t go as OP planned. |
Aren't you risking a bit more than your pension? One officer got charged with murder for driving 30 mph while a guy on an ATV fled and crashed. |
It’s amazing that crime isn’t even worse considering a cop was charged with murder because a drug dealer can’t drive. |
| Not even Fox News itself is questioning the data or the crime drop. It’s real. |
Fox News doesn’t have my sources. It’s all bogus. |

What does the President have to do with it? I thought the car jackings were caused by the fact that most 11 yo boys are dumb plus know they won't get in trouble even if they point guns at people. They call the cars "free cars."
